Hospitalisation leave

How to ask or tell for 1 week HL? Im 36+ weeks now, on subsidised route at kk. EDD is just like what? 3 weeks ++ away? I already planned my leaves swee swee but I didnt realise I needed to start earlier because I didnt know I would be in this constant uncomfortable state. Like, legit need to be hospitalized or ask for long MC because Im just tired from walking short distance & back ache, sciatica & pelvis pain & coughing because of heartburn. I know this is normal to have all these symptoms, as long as baby healthy but why not the mother? Mother also needs to be healthy (physically, mentally & emotionally) . Government should give more than 3.6 months of Maternity Leave so that we can start ML at 8 months onwards and not giving us option to start 1 month before EDD. We should be able to be physically, mentally&emotionally ready to go back to work too. This post is honestly a how-to question and a rant since this is my 1st time expecting.

It really depends on gynae and yes for subsidised route seems they're more stingy on HLs. I'm currently in my 35th week and due to my frequent early contractions since 5 months and on medication, tgt with chronic asthma, my gynae gave me HL starting frm 34th week. He even wanted to give me at 32nd week but I had to reject cz I had lots to prepare as a teacher before I leave. I'm with Parkway btw. My colleague who went via the subsidised route in KK couldn't get any HL but as soon as she converted to private, just like other mommies here, her gynae offered her HL straight away, but gynae also told her if her work don't require her to stand and walk alot or allows for WFH, she might not get it too. So yes, ur job plays a part too.
