If you're able to afford and the pregnancy has no complications you might want to consider private (even kkh private also ok) coz one gynae see you through the journey. I personally tried both and I can't stand having no ultrasound at gynae visits at kkh. You don't get to see your baby every visit and if u do, u spend another half a day waiting for the scan with another department as compared to scanning during your doctor's consultation in private.
Go private if you can afford it. Go for subsidies if you're more on the save money type and not fussy, dont mind the waiting hours. Private and subsidize check up more or less the same except that subsidize cannot choose Doctor. Consultation see Doctor also a few mintues only for both. I am subsidize patient under NUH and never have to wait for so long for every of my check up.
I was contemplating to go for a particular gynae as private patient but in the end decided to go to KKH as subsidised patient as it was an uncomplicated pregnancy. 1st pregnancy too =)
I guess the reason why I went for private was to avoid the crazy waiting time at KKH.. can practically spend the whole day there just for check up 😑
Choose SGH in private class. Preferred to choose my own Gynae. Avoid Subsidies, long wait time, cannot choose doctor n so on
Dr Benjamin Tham from Thomson medical
Dr KT Tan from KKH
Dr woodworth Adrain, he is friendly and very well experience gynae. He has two hospital to choose, mount A and Thomson. And he is chop chop kind. I love his stitching, I can walk around after day 2 operation. It is painless!
