Why do we need to keep breast milk?

Going to be a first time mum. Breast milk storage bag was one of the 'must buy' item in my list. However husband say not necessary. His reason - I just need to breast feed each time baby is hungry. He say I need not keep my excess milk once baby had enough. He have seen lots of online mummies who kept bags & bags of breast milk in the freezer but end up they either give away or throw away. But no mama wants to dump away their precious breast milk. Any other reason why we keep breast milk? How can I explain to my husband the need to store breastmilk?

Your hubby has a point, coz all my excess breastmilk store in the freezer only use for bathing LO and feed her during the transition to fresh milk. My LO was direct latch all the way since birth. However he also has to know that, even though LO might be direct latch, you will still need to pump or express out the excess when LO is sleeping or not hungry to latch when your breasts are “full”, to prevent engorgement and also the more frequent you clear the breastmilk from your breasts be it LO latch or pump or hand express, your breasts will produce more breastmilk. Bathing LO with your excess pump/hand express breastmilk is also very good for LO’s skin.
