Bleeding at 5–6 Weeks Pregnant — What Was Your Experience at the Doctor?
Hi everyone. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with repeated bleeding during very early pregnancy, around 5 or 6 weeks. Every time I’ve had bleeding, I’ve gone to the doctor, and I’ve been to three different places. Each time, they’ve done the same things: hCG blood tests and a transvaginal ultrasound, then sent me home. Gave me Dhupaston too. I understand that at 5 or 6 weeks it may be too early to see much on an ultrasound, and I know there may not always be much that can be done immediately. But I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and whether their doctor did anything else or investigated further, especially when the bleeding kept happening. To be honest, it’s also becoming really tiring having to keep going to the hospital every time this happens, especially with the long waiting times. I have a toddler, and I’m living alone most of the time, so it can be really difficult to spend hours at the hospital each time, only to have the same tests done and then be sent home. I’m not saying I don’t want to get checked. I just want to understand whether there are any other things doctors can do or check for repeated bleeding this early on, and what other people’s experiences have been. What did your doctor do, and was there anything else they were able to check or monitor besides hCG and a transvaginal ultrasound? I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.
