A few of us mum friends went through delayed healing, and what really helped was making sure we ate properly (high protein!), stayed hydrated, got enough rest (I know hard with a newborn), and kept the wound clean and dry between dressings. Some of us also found that taking our prescribed meds on time, even when we felt better, made a big difference. If you notice increased redness, heat, swelling, or fever, please call your doctor or go back to the hospital straight away, these things can change fast.
