update to HR

my divorce final judgement will be getting in May. Currently in Healthcare sector. May i know is it a must to inform HR about my change of marital status. I am intending to change my job after july onwards. I just dont wish ppl n HR to know my personal things . I hoped to get someone who is familar with the system. Any HR parents here can advise me. Appeciate.

I understand from previous companies that it is necessary to inform HR. I think this is also more for health or medical insurance that covers your spouse. Also it is is very important that all matters regarding employees are kept private and confidential. so really your current hr or the new hr has no business spreading this news around. Good luck!
