Both cow’s milk and goat’s milk formulas meet the nutritional standards required for infant and toddler development, and each may offer unique characteristics. At present, there is no conclusive evidence that goat milk formula provides added benefits over cow’s milk formula for healthy children. If your child is thriving on their current formula, there is usually no need to switch. However, some parents may explore different options based on individual preferences or tolerances.

Some say goat milk has a stronger smell. Will that affect my baby’s acceptance of it?

Some babies may notice the difference in smell or taste of goat milk formula, especially if they’re used to cow’s milk formula. However, babies adapt quickly, and some don’t mind the difference at all.

If switch halfway, will baby tummy upset? Concerned mum here, thanks for answering!

2t trước

Some babies may experience mild digestive changes when switching from cow’s milk to goat’s milk formula. To minimise discomfort, it is best to do it gradually, transitioning over several days by slowly increasing the amount of the new formula. If your baby shows signs of severe discomfort or persistent symptoms, contact your paediatrician for guidance.

How is the shelf life of goat's milk? Is it shorter or longer than cow’s milk?

2t trước

When it comes to formula, both goat milk and cow milk based formulas have similar shelf-lives which is usually indicated on the packaging.

Nutrition wise, goat milk same as cow’s milk or not as good?

2t trước

Plain cow’s milk and goat’s milk have similar overall nutrition, though goat’s milk is higher in minerals like calcium and phosphorus but lower in folate and vitamin B12. Because of this, unmodified goat’s milk isn’t suitable for infants. Goat milk-based formulas are fortified to meet nutritional standards, just like cow’s milk formulas. Both are regulated and provide complete nutrition when properly prepared.

Can goat milk formula help if my baby frequently has phlegm?

2t trước

There is no strong evidence that goal milk formula specifically helps to reduce phlegm in babies. Frequent phlegm can be caused by many factors such as colds, allergies or reflux. If the symptoms persist, it is best to discuss with your paediatrician to identify the cause of treatment. Nutritionally goat milk formula is similar to cow’s milk formula, so switching formulas may not affect phlegm production.
