A few of us in my mum circle have heard of amniotic bands being spotted on scans, and the good news is that many babies whose mums had this detected early went on to be born completely fine, as long as the bands stayed away from the limbs and cord. Someone in my mum group did mention a case where the bands unfortunately did affect the baby's hand, so the outcome really does depend on where the bands are positioned and whether baby gets entangled, which is exactly why your doctor will monitor you closely with more frequent scans going forward. The most important thing right now is to keep up with all your follow-up appointments and not skip any scans, so the doctor can catch any changes early.
