Food at 5 months

Dear Mummies and Experts, how old was ur baby when you start introducing purees? My LO is turning 5mths this weekend and lately he has been doing this sucking gesture and drools alot. He focuses w/o a twitch when he sees me and my husband eats. Is this a sign that he wants to start eating already? Any advise☺️
