contemplating whether to purchase insurance since I've reached the min weeks. do u think its needed to get one?

Yess very important ! In the event of complication as pregnancy is really full of surprises, better to get covered

Yesss stringly advise you to get.. It ensures thaf once bb is born in the event of any health issue bb still covered with insurance..else its almost impossible to get insured thereafter innsucha event.
