Can you please suggest a good first shoe for baby?

Hmm I was not that very particular when it comes to brand for baby's first shoes. I just considered few things like ones that sited in the website below: 1. Flexibility. Shoes should be very soft especially the sole - can be twisted like a rubber. 2. Breathability - we should not opt for plastic ones as air can't get through it. Must be good fabric else leather. We won't like our kids to have smelly tinie tiny feet too! ;) 3. Roominess: Aside from doing that thumb test (checking if your thumb can fit into the front and back inside of the shoes) I believe this also means making sure that the shoes won't hurt baby's feet as it's too small, super fit or too big that it make cause him to tumble down. My wife pretty much bought everything but we ended up using Attipas. The others were either too hot for SG weather or my boy complained when we took more than a few seconds to wear his shoes. It also helped that the wide front made it more stable for him running forward. Oh and did I mention that it was much cheaper then all the others that we didn't use much of? :)

I second pediped. Very soft soles so helps the baby feel the ground and learn to walk. Yet it's quite grippy so helps balance. I moved on to stride ride after pediped - such a good grip! Really great shoes. Word of caution : kids shoes are shockingly expensive ($60-70) and they outgrow them so quickly so I'd avoid buying too many at once!

See kai run, Pediped and 1st Avenue. My kids have tried all these brands and it seemed very comfortable and soft, gentle to the legs. Designs available are also alot for both boys and gals. Quite a number of shops carry them too.
