Hearing test

My baby just went for her 4 months old checkup and did her hearing test. The doc said her left ear present but her right side absent. Should i be worried? Also, i feel worried because i clean my baby ears with cotton bud and scared that i might have harm my bay ears and may have potentially be the reason why. Doc said she was distracted and will check again at 6 months. But im worried. Is it common for this? #askmommies

Don’t worry too much yet. At 4 months, this is fairly common-babies can be distracted and give uneven hearing test results. That’s why your doctor planned a repeat test at 6 months. Cotton buds usually don’t cause hearing damage unless inserted deep, so it’s unlikely you caused this. > Most babies who fail one side initially pass the follow-up test. Just wait for the recheck and observe if she responds to sounds at home

generally unnecessary to clean inside your ear canals because ears are self-cleaning but perhaps really because she was distracted 🙏💕
