hi dear this is quite normal, as mum Chetna already mentioned. in such small babies, the tendons and bones are still not fully developed. so, as the soft tissue moves while your baby moves the knees, it touches the bones, which then makes the sound. the sound will be similar to that when you crack your knuckles. i would still say just get this checked with the doctor to rule out any issues and to ease your worry

Thank u dr

Hi Amrutha, It is very normal in babies. These sounds are perhaps caused by sliding tendons, which happen when soft tissue (tendons) interacts with hard tissue (bones). But get it checked by the doctor if your baby makes these sounds in her hips, particularly if they are a clunking, rather than clicking. Else, it is normal.

thank u dear

Hello, I have experience this with my daughter, and I remember doctor telling me that it happens because babies joints are immature. It is worrisome if they hear this clicking or popping in the hip part. This sound goes away on its own.
