NUH or KKH (subsidised)?

#askmommies Hi mummies. I am deciding between NUH or KKH subsidised route. I was with KKH for my firstborn's journey, and heard NUH is a much better experience. How's your experience with NUH as compared to KKH? Does NUH also provide scans with every appointment like KKH? Thanks mummies :)

Went from subsidised to Private route. I gave birth to my first two (2018 and 2020) in NUH, A1 ward. Didnt have scans for every prenatal appointments, more to heartbeat check and waiting time was relatively fast as opposed to KKH. The waiting time for KKH appointments can be more than an hour, subsidised/ private, not inclusive of routine HT/WT/BP checks. However, I was forced to room in with my baby for both in NUH, despite going through emergency & elective czer respectively. Other than privacy and families to visit, it can be traumatising for a first timer. Had better experience for my second born due to the pandemic 😂 3rd was born in KKH, B1 ward, 4 bed with aircon. Elective czer but baby was kept in nursery through the night for 2 nights (8 pm to 5 am) as I was on my own, post op and unable to move for the first 24 hours. Had scans for all appointments in KKH. Now with my fourth and pretty much the same experience as third. The only issue I have is there shouldn't be a single outstanding bill from your antenatal or past visits in KKH prior to your birth, or you would be downgraded straight to C class with assigned team doctor to deliver your child — no issues for uncomplicated pregnancies i guess.
