Announcing a loss is truly one of the hardest things to do, and there is absolutely no right or wrong way to do it. I personally believe in telling your closest family and friends first privately and personally, before any wider announcement, because they deserve to hear it from you directly. Take as much time as you need and don't feel pressured to announce anything before you are ready, grief has no timeline and neither does sharing it. Most importantly, lean on your people during this time and allow them to support you, you don't have to carry this alone.
