How to fight mom guilt

After teo years of working at home, balik Manila na ako to work. Weekdays nasa manila ako and weekends na lang ako makakauwi. I am guilty na iniiwan ko si lo sa province with her dad and relatives. How do I manage mom guilt and sarness and nega thoughts while being productive at work? I know I need to work pero ang hirap kasi na malayo sa baby. I cannot just change my career and find another job kasi mahirap naghanap ng work ngayon sa province. #momguilt

Hay, totally get this, a few of us mums went through the same setup, and honestly it's one of the hardest adjustments kasi the guilt is real, but what helped was reframing it: you're not abandoning lo, you're providing for her, and that's a form of love din. The weekends become extra special kaya make them count, quality over quantity talaga, no phone, just her, and yung relatives back home are actually blessing din kasi she's surrounded by lolo, lola, and cousins who love her madly. For the nega thoughts during the workweek, marami sa circle ko na nag-set ng specific "mom time", like video call with lo after work, or journaling the guilt instead of letting it eat you alive, plus talking to partner about it para hindi laging bottled up. It won't erase the missing-her feeling, but it makes it lighter, and honestly after a few months it becomes your new normal na, you adapt. You're doing right by your family, that matters more than the guilt.
