The baby expert said to never add cereals to milk feeds. Milk feeds should stay as milk feeds. International guidelines suggest to start weaning at 6 months, though some people do start earlier (earliest is 4 months). Baby needs to have excellent head and neck control, be able to sit up well with/without support, be interested in food, and be able to receive the spoon/food. The earlier you start, the higher the risk of choking if baby’s not ready.. so it’s good to learn lifesaving skills like the baby Heimlich manouvre just in case.

Start introducing some solids after 6 months. Never add cereal to milk in a bottle. They used to do that last time but it increase choking risk.

Super Mum

Best to wait till baby is able to sit comfortably with support for you to start solids so that he / she can swallow properly... :)

From 6 months onwards better..
