38 weeks induction- baby small

At 38 weeks my baby is weighing 2.4kg. Doc say she’s small. Although she’s healthy and moving I am not leaking he checked and also did membrane sweep all is well (1cm dilated only), he still recommended an induction. I honestly feel it is no necessary. He mentioned water levels for baby is on lower side, and small so induction is best. Honestly I think he was being pushy then necessary! I’m on government route btw so not my personal gynae. What do you guys think? I have to go back on Wed to scan again because he did not want to issue me a longer HL yet.

There's only so much that the baby can grow within these few week and I think it'll be a concern if the water level drop even further. I went through kkh, doc ask to induce at 38 weeks, baby was 2.6 during check up and delivery. Gynae said coz of my height its better to give birth to a baby below 3kg. My water broke 2 days before I was due to be induced. As for the dilation, you may not need to worry. I was 1 cm as well and after 24 hours, it became 10 cm. Just continue your exercises and diet meanwhile.
