38 weeks induction- baby small

At 38 weeks my baby is weighing 2.4kg. Doc say she’s small. Although she’s healthy and moving I am not leaking he checked and also did membrane sweep all is well (1cm dilated only), he still recommended an induction. I honestly feel it is no necessary. He mentioned water levels for baby is on lower side, and small so induction is best. Honestly I think he was being pushy then necessary! I’m on government route btw so not my personal gynae. What do you guys think? I have to go back on Wed to scan again because he did not want to issue me a longer HL yet.

try to eat some durian and see if can gain some weight for the baby. i understand that some baby may not be getting much nutrients after week 38 or so, thus harder to grow bigger. could also be umbilical cord issue e.g. knots, hence the baby is not getting enough nutrients and explains the small size. i read this from another mother who had small size baby. and since the gynae mentioned that fluid is on the low side, then there is a risk of complication during birth, baby could go into distress and u may end up emergency c-sect. so i think u should listen to the gynae and get induce soon.
