Lack of sleep for 3 weeks old baby

My 3 weeks old baby daughter only sleeps around 1 hour in each stretch in the day and will wake up and cry for milk. She will then take another 1 hour plus before she can sleep. This started only this week, previously it was quite difficult to wake her up for milk. Anyone facing the same problem or had dealt with such problem before? #advicepls #1stimemom #firstbaby #pleasehelp

Hey mama, Babies go through a very large part of their development in the first month - many parents experience their little ones being more alert in the afternoons at the 3-4 week mark as baby begins to be more curious about their surroundings. Does she sleep more or for longer in the nights?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, the baby tends to sleep for longer stretches for around 3 hours after 12 midnight. We realise that it is usually near evenings at around 5 to 8pm that she fights sleep.
