Why baby likes to rub their face

My 2mth old likes to rub his face with his mitten hands. Especially during stretching like waking up or when irritated. He would rub till eye lip red and cheek red. Any of u encounter this? How to manage it?

Hey mummy, could be because of eczema or heat rash. Try swaddling the baby. When the baby is swaddled he will feel safe and his arms will be tucked in - and that will prevent him from rubbing his face. https://sg.theasianparent.com/swaddling-101/ You can also check with doctor on possible moisturiser or cream for him.
