Will KKH issue MC for counselling, FTS Screening and Blood Test?

Hi everyone. I was given 3 appointments at KKH which I believe is for the counselling before Down Syndrome testing, first trimester screening and then related blood test. However, my boss and work place is not very supportive and I was frowned at for taking MC/time-off for my appointment. I know that for the monthly consultations, the doctors issue MCs. But do they also issue MCs if I am only there for counselling session? I really need an MC if not my boss would give me hell. Sigh. #pregnancy #kkh #1stimemom

The blood test itself i doubt there will be mc cos not seeing any Dr. But if you can ask KKH staff to help you arrange for your screening to be on the same day as blood test RESULTS COLLECTION, the Doctor that analyses your results that same day can issue MC.

Placenta Previa - KKH Gynae Recommendation

Hi mommies, I'm at my 21st week and on monitoring of my low lying placenta. I am currently a subsidised patient at KKH, wondering if there are any gynae who is pro at handling placenta previa? Understand my placenta could still move up. But am also considering going private so if I do, would prefer a gynae who can handle placenta previa well in case it happens. hi mummy🌸 i discover having low placenta as early as 20 weeks. as subsidise patient. i do not have fixed gynae but i have one fixed specialist, shes an Australian. her advice was not worrying and shes very attentive. now i'm at 27 weeks my placenta is moving up just right and do not block my delivery canal. yet my baby is big due to my diabetic condition, doctor advice me to have cesarean. Going private always has the best advice and less stress becos of having fixed gynae. i hope to have tht experience for my second 😅

KKH subsidy to private costs

Hi all! Saw a few posts of parents switching from KKH subsidy to private (towards end of pregnancy/before giving birth). Can I ask: 1. Why did you decide to switch? 2. I did that for my first child. 1. I wanted a gynae to be present at birth and not just midwives or medical students. For subsidized, it would be a medical student. I wasn’t comfortable that every visit there wasn’t a scan. Especially towards the end where I feel that it is v important to monitor fluid levels etc. 2. I chose a regular consultant. So instead of $40+ a visit, I paid $90-$110/ visit with scans. 3. Once you’re a PTE patient, you can only choose A1, B1 and B2+. Those require cash upfront at delivery. B2+ was $2500 deposit, which they eventually wrote a Cheque back to me for the balance.
