I'm Malay and we usually speak switch between English and malay at home. However, because of where I live the other kids in my daughters preschool are mostly chinese. The preschool only has English and Mandarin speaking teachers, and my daughter comes home speaking Mandarin sometimes. I'm worried that there will be times when she wants something and I won't be able to understand her needs. Any suggestions how I should deal with this?
I'm quite traditional, especially when it comes to food. With my kids I give them the same lunch my mum used to make me, bread, butter and sugar. But with all these new 'health fads' I'm worried that I might be falling behind in getting my kids to grow up healthy. Any advice for how i can start simple and not scare my kids with the change in their day to day diet?
My 20 month old has become such a fussy eater! It started as a minor issue that I would often overlook, but nowadays she seems to hate everything I make for her. All of her previous favourite foods she now spits it back out, clamps her mouth shut or keeps it in her mouth. I'm scared that she's not getting enough food in her system and I'm also unsure what's considered a healthy weight for her to be at right now. I've tried the usual mashing of food, or playing around with different flavours but still nothing. Should I try force feeding her? I'm out of ideas and need help! Suggestions?
