Hi mummy! At 12 days old, it can be quite normal for the umbilical stump to still be there and even have a bit of yellowish discharge as it’s drying up and healing. Some babies’ cords drop off earlier, some take up to 1 to 2 weeks or a bit longer, so timing can vary. Just keep the area clean and dry, and try not to touch or pull it. But if you notice things like bad smell, redness spreading around the belly button, thick pus, swelling, or baby seems uncomfortable or has fever, then better to bring baby see doctor quickly okay. Newborns better to be safe one. Any doubts also just go check, don’t wait and stress yourself out.

Brown colour discharge

Hi mommy's, I'm 14 weeks pregnant. expecting my first baby. whenever i empty my bowels i noticed there is a small (2cm long) brown colour discharge coming from my vagina. It appears like a brownish gel. Is this something to worry? This is the 3rd day it happened. My next appointment with doc is in 5 weeks time. Do i need to see a doc urgently?
