Washing baby clothes

Do yall wash newborn clothes in washing machine or hand wash them? I just got a new helper and my MIL trains her. She said all baby clothes have to be hand washed. I’m rather upset all my newborn clothing don’t smell anything nice. No smell of the bzubzu baby detergent I bought.. I’m not sure if this is normal..

I wash in washing machine , old people said not good to use washing machine wait babu hard to sleep etc laa.. but it is all up to u..
