how long do you have to be in order for your doctor to tell you how far along I am?

I am on week eight and I am wondering if it is too soon to ask my doctor if she can tell me how far along I am... This app saids 8 weeks but I want to be sure. Is it too early?

The most accurate method is during the first trimester screening which can be done around weeks 10 to 12. For now, dr can scan to see if the size is close to your estimated week eight but will tend to rely on your last menstrual period to calculate.
