Fibroids during pregnancy

Sayang, jangan risau sangat dulu, someone in my mum group mentioned that fibroids can actually go either way during pregnancy, some shrink, some stay the same, and some do grow bigger because the baby and fibroid are sort of "competing" for the same blood supply. The size does matter too, a smaller one may not cause much trouble at all, but if it grows quite large, you might feel more discomfort or some pain, especially as your bump gets bigger. The good news is that many mummies with fibroids still go on to have healthy pregnancies, alhamdulillah, though it really does depend on where the fibroid is positioned and how your body responds. Do please speak with your O&G specialist or a maternal-fetal medicine doctor who can monitor the fibroid's size and placement properly throughout your pregnancy, it's really the safest and most reassuring thing you can do for both yourself and your little one.
