If your child runs out of eg. cough syrup, your house has got an exactly the same medicine prescribed to your child previously, but this is prescribed to an adult but unopened, would you feed it to your child? At the dosage stated for your child @3.5ml.

if it's the exact same medicine, and your child has taken it before, it's alright. just be sure to adjust the dosage accordingly.

hi all, im new here.. i have some qns regards to my 26 months.. is it a must to discipline ur child to really listen to ur every word?? my 26 month cant speak full language yet.. he only say 'what is this' best.. example: last weekend we having staycation with family and he's been getting into fights with the youngest cousin.. he will cry without stopping when i said no to him.. i dont really beat him but last weekend, i beat him the most which i really dont want to.. i seldom use cane too.. and when the youngest cousin wants to play his scooter, he defend and cry again, but the youngest cousin also got wrong as she snatch while my son is holding it.. can someone tell me how old does they understand what we saying? currently, im preg with 2nd child @ 26 weeks.. im afraid i will breakdown if he wont stop crying.. he doesnt know how to stop, he just go on and on.. thanks.. And to add: recently i m super stressful about finance.. i take back home less than 1.4k.. i m going to change job but is until end of the year then can change as im expecting now.. i keep on feeling to stop work and stay home with my tod until i give birth.. but i cant.. i dont know what is wrong with me recently.. i feel like breaking down but no one understand.. they only will say is my own fault..

Understand how you feel. it happen to my wife before when she preg. will be emotional. just becareful not to go into depression. speak to him in a firmly tone when he naughty. do not be too stressful about it, most kid are terrible when 2 yrs old. ")

Mums, I have a query. Does anyone here give oats to children? My baby is not fond of oats. Any interesting recipes?

My toddler has been weaned off breast milk for around a year. I have a newborn and am expressing and latching at the same time. I'm wondering if I should give my excess milk to my toddler to drink as I'm afraid she might be used to the taste of formula and not want breast milk anymore. Anyone has the same experience? And what is the best way to give the milk to my toddler? Do I mix it with formula?

Hi Muslim Parents! Can I know do you place your children in Islamic Childcare Centre or normal one? Why? Is there any Islamic CC around Yishun/Khatib/Sengkang/Punggol area to recommend and do they have transport provided?

My close friends who are Muslims enroll their babies in mainstream infant care. I think it's because at that really young age, their main source of food is still formula, purees and cereals so there are no dietary restrictions issue there. Not too sure how things will be when the kids are older and start taking in more solids. For me, I'd probably enroll my child wherever is the most convenient (nearest to my place) -- if there is an Islamic centre, then okay will consider, if not then a mainstream one is fine too. Food wise, most centres serve only fish and chicken due to different religious dietary restrictions so for me, that's enough. The Iman Kindergarten and Childcare has several branches around Singapore including one in Yishun Central 1, Blk 934. Not too sure if they have transport provided though :) www.iman.edu.sg

My 2 yr old toddler dislike washing her hair, she will scream and cry if water drips on her face and resist bathing . I have tried shampoo shields etc but to no avail she will take out and jump out of the tub. I still have to carry her in newborn style" to wash her hair but it's putting a strain on my arms ! Pls advise

My mom bought this for my son. It looks strange but worked!

Wanted feedback for yuva bharthi international and dps school... which is a better choice?

My daughter used to study at Yuva Bharthi...decent indian school. Much better review than DPS.

Wanted some opinion on schools for Indian children who will go back to India in near future. Is it a good move to put them in local schools vs Indian International schools?

Anyone got their child studying at Avondale International school near Tanglin? Any feedback?

A friend of mine enrolled her children in Avondale back in 2013, they were 10 and 13 then. They've since moved back to Australia. From what I remember, she liked the fact that the school is rather new (opened in 2007) and smaller in size compared to the other older, more established international schools in Singapore. The location is pretty central to her home and work place which was a big plus and the kids were having fun and engaged in school activities. She had nothing bad to say about Avondale.

Is it really important to enroll your child into extra-curricular classes after school? I have seen many parents send their kids to drawing and dance classes after school.

If your kids have interest and you can afford why not? Just remember 1 thing, don't let it become a force thinking by your kids instead. Do communicate with them to find out their interest and thinking about it.
