How many days exceed edd before induce

For KKH, when baby exceed edd, how many days will gynae give for us to try natural labor before getting induced ? Im coming to 39 weeks still not a single sign and have a feeling ill end up getting induced as i heard most mummies exceed edd for first child 🥵 Is it possible that one day we feel nothing then suddenly next day we see early labor sign. Or usually labor sign will go on for few days #FTM

I gave birth last month and it's my first pregnancy. My gyne gave me till week 41, I was given to decide to be induced at week 39+6 as I was dilated at only 2cm and already had mucus plug. I decided to wait till my EDD but baby was still comfortable inside. The next very day at midnight, the contractions started regularly and was admitted to KKH at 5:30AM. I was able to deliver normal without being induced as I was at 4cm to 5cm dilated in the observation room. My labour took around 9hrs. So it all depends on our bodies. 😅 Every pregnancy is different!

Post natal ogtt reading??

Can i know what is the blood sugar reading if you are repeating your ogtt after delivery? Im so worried i might fail. My ogtt 2nd hr during pregnancy was 8.2mmol, im afraid will be this high. #pleasehelp #advicepls #firsttimemom #FTM

Hey mama, don't worry too much, from what I've heard, blood sugar levels usually return to normal after delivery for most mums who had GDM, so your 8.2mmol during pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean your postnatal OGTT will be the same. The postnatal OGTT is typically done around 6 to 12 weeks after delivery, and the cut-off readings they use are the standard non-pregnancy thresholds, so fasting below 7.0mmol and the 2-hour reading below 7.8mmol is generally considered normal. My friend went through the same thing, her pregnancy reading was even higher than yours, and her postnatal OGTT came back completely fine, so there is real reason to be hopeful. That said, it's still good to be mindful, some mums who had GDM do have a higher long-term risk of Type 2 diabetes, so the follow-up test really is worth taking seriously rather than skipping. Definitely worth going through your specific numbers and what to expect with your own doctor or endocrinologist, as they can give you the most accurate picture based on your individual history.

Sleeping under fan makes body more achy

Anybody here sleeps better at night with aircon than fan ? Not necessarily because of the coolness or heat, but for some reason, sleeping under the fan makes your lower back pain, thigh & leg more achy and painful? Even when using a blanket. Idk if that makes sense. #FTM

Nausea and giddy at 23 weeks

I am still having nausea at 23 weeks particularly after food. Thought it will ease off when you hit 2nd trimester. Anyone experiencing the same so I know this is normal?

I heard some people vomit until they deliver. The condition is called hyperemesis gravidarum. Maybe check with your gynae?

Edd sept has given birth ?

Hi mummies with Sept EDD, has any of you given birth ? And at which week? Was it naturally and thru vaginal delivery ? Im already at 37 weeks+ edd is 17 sept, and now since my baby is full term i spend every single day being paranoid like when will my contraction start and really scared ill end up getting induced cs baby doesnt want to come out 😭 #FTM

taste buds taste weird

Does anyone have tips to improve taste buds? I feel irritated about being so funny in my mouth.

is this first trimester? unfortunately there’s nothing that can be done to taste buds, except to take small candies that can improve the taste. this was one of the worse symptoms for me.. not painful but very annoying to have that awful taste the whole day

Preparation of baby room and confinement items

Ladies, which week or month did you start preparation for setting up your baby room like fixing of the cot or dresser for clothes, bibs and necessary items. And also buying of confinement items such as herbal tea, herbal soup, herbal Bath items etc. thanks!

Hi mums! Would like to seek advice and recommendations for breast pumps. Currently I’m looking at Spectra vs a China brand breast pump (for cost saving). I’m a first time mum so haven’t used breast pump before. Would it be too big a risk to take if I went straight for the China breast pump? Specs are pretty good, anti-backflow, BPA-free components etc. If you’ve other recommendations please let me know too! Thank you :) #advicepls

I took an alcohol in my third weem of pregnancy because i didnt know i wa pregnant. Im so aftaid now

Nah if you alr took it nothing can be done dont worry too much! I believe if its a one time thing it wont harm baby.

Eating dates & walks help shorten labour

Im a ftm, 38+1w, already started eating 5 dates/day , doing squats, going up down stairs & going for 30-40 mins walk everyday, will it help baby drop to pelvic, avoid getting overdue & shorten labor? 😅 Am paranoid that i have yet to see any signs of labor and very anxious. Scared that after doing all these baby still overdue & labor will still be long (‘: #FTM

If this is your first time then it may exceed your EDD, it may not. But usually dr/gynae will have cervix check & see if baby's head engaged thru the birth canal at 38/39 weeks. Then, when you know whethere you dilate a bit or not then you will have a rough gauge whether it would be long/short labour. Pardon it all depend on our body, baby, and other factor. Because for me, both babies exceed EDD eventhough I dilated 3cm. 😅🤣
