Infant care OR hire a helper?

Hello parents, In one month’s time, my wife will be ending her maternity and we are considering between sending our baby to infant care and hiring a helper. My parents are aggressively wanting us to hire a helper but my wife and myself are poised to using infant care instead. We have weighed the pros and cons between both options and felt that the latter is best for our baby’s development. Reason for not wanting a helper 1. Having another person at home will introduce a different set of problems 2. I can’t have my helper at home with my 3 months old son without supervision 3. Maid will usually take the easiest way to stop the baby from crying without long term consideration for the child’s well being 4. Baby might grow accustomed to helper’s indulgence and affect the bond between child and parents Cons of sending a child in infant care 1. Time and schedule will become rigid 2. Child can fall sick easily due to contagion I would like to hear more from any parents here whom were once in my position. What were your considerations, observations and ultimately what did you choose and why? Thanks once again.

I'll go with infant care. don't worry about the falling sick part as its helping your child to build up his immune system. and they get to socialise and play with other kids in school. :)

My 5 room flat is cost $580000. Havent met MOP. Still waiting for my final judgement letter. Now my flat is only 3 years. May i know how much loss will there be incurred. Will there be any cash pay out?? Cpf pay out? Appeciate your input please. Thank you.

I suggest you have a look at all of them and go for the lightest most compact (easy to pack) one for traveling. nothing else matters when your in another country apart from your stroller being a pain to drag around and be complicated.

I'm a stay at home Mom (SAHM). Wanna ask all husbands here .. what is your expectations of your Wife if she is a SAHM n both of u have two kids. Do u expect her to take on all housework , cook all meals ? When u come home from work that she ought to continue to do all the work including settling the kids to bed , supervise older child of his work .. ? Then when u wanna be intimate with her n she was still busy settling housework that u grumble u have the lowest priority in her heart ? I wanna hear from the point of view of husbands

I am a father of 4+ Yrs kid and might be able to answer to your question. To answer to the question, my expectations are too short from my wife: 1. Wake up Spritually and Lead family. 2. Train the kids like her mother gives her love and supports. 3. Discuss everything about kid day to day actions/activities in school/any type of classes (if any) 4. Settling the kids to bed is father & mother job too. 5. Plan & Execute with care family related issues. 6. Discuss with husband in detail about the day. 7. As a father & husband, respect & love wife for successfully completing the day :) Hope this answer, help to understand about the expectation of a husband.
