COVID-19 amidst pregnancy

Feeling quite low after knowing that my colleagues met a COVID-19 patient during our split-team shift. Because of the interaction, MOH has taken my details (pending next course of action). Hopefully everything turns out positively. As a frontline worker, the worst case scenario would be that I contacted COVID-19. Both wife and I have vaccinated, so not too concerned about us getting COVID-19, but I am definitely worried about the elder folks at our home and the ongoing pregnancy at the 10th week (not sure how COVID will affect pregnancy). Just finding an avenue to vent out the worry I have for wifey's pregnancy (this 10 weeks has not been easy for her). Also trying to find support from front-line dads and moms who have faced or might be facing similar situations.

HELP! Mummy is shagged.

Why my 5 months old baby is active in the middle of the night? He will wake up every an hour for milk or wants to talk/ play. He had nap for an hour in daytime. What can I do?

is he undergoing some developmental leaps like learning new skills? also I think 1 hour nap for a 5 month old could be a little too little. 5 months old should be on a 3-nap schedule. observe his wake time, he might be too overtired, hence affecting his night sleep.

Confinement nanny cancelled :(

I initially arranged for a confinement nanny through an agency for my first child. But the nanny they had in plan for me last minute had to go back to Malaysia and the agency isn’t able to find me a replacement. They just decided to refund the full amount that I paid. And I’m now left with few options since both parents / families aren’t here with us physically. I was thinking of managing it on my own, maybe getting confinement food delivery, while my husband helps out with the rest of house work & taking turns to take care of the baby. Any tips for first time parents through the first month? For baby & mommy.

I rem there’s a fb group that helps mummies find CL and CL to find mummies (CL are free lance). If you are still thinking of engaging CL.

How many sets of newborn clothing did you get? And do we need that many sets since they grow very fast… #advicepls #firstbaby

Wouldn’t suggest getting too many newborn size. At most only a few to bring baby home from hosp or to see doc for injection. After that baby can wear those one size bigger cos they grow very fast. My boy outgrow his newborn clothes so fast that some are still new.
