Eczema or just dry skin?

Hi mummies/daddies here, any suggestion on body wash i can use on my newborn with dry skin? Not sure if its eczema. Any parents here with experience with eczema can tell if this looks like it is? Also Ive been using Cetaphil Calendula range and so far keeps flaring up after i use. Would appreciate any suggestion :) TIA!

Smell in the ear

My baby is 2 months plus. We realised his ears has an unpleasant smell for the pass few weeks despite washing and drying the ears after bath. Is that normal? Should i use cottonbud to dig his ear or something?

Do not dig their ears with cotton buds (or any other objects, in short don’t need to dig the interior of their ears), it will only push whatever is inside deeper. … Just clean the exterior with cloth or cotton balls. If you’re concerned about the smell, it’s probably due to excess fluids in the ears, can bring to PD and ask them to help with removal/cleaning of wax inside.

Change Baby Milk

Hi mummies, i need help. My baby 6M having diarrhoea so doc recommends me to change to Lactose Free (Enfamil) for 1 week. After 1 week doc say can change back to old milk (Lactogen Stage 1) but incase baby still diarrhoea need to change to other brand. Im not to sure to change to Nan Optipro or S26 Gold Any recommendations please help thank you. And what the difference between Nan Optipro and Nan Supermepro H.A

My baby started out with similac but heard from a friend that enfamil is good. So i changed to enfamil after just the first tin of similac finished. But enfamil is giving my daughter bowel issues, poos only once in like 2 or 3 days and also the poo colour is of undesirable colour. So i changed back to similac. But recently similac is giving her red spots(heat rash) on her face very frequently, heard that similac is very heaty so i changed to S-26 gold now. Seems like it suits her way better, poos 2 or 3 times in a day and reduced heat rash. I really recommend you to try out S-26 gold :)

2 months old Vaccination

Hello mummies , my LO just gotten her vaccination. Would like to know is there anything i should look out for? Example fever...And also my LO keeps crying very loudly and not sleeping well...😿Would also like to know how long will vomiting and diarrhoea last after the shot?

yes fever, redness, infection on injection site. did the nurse not inform you on possible side effects?

Is it okay to swaddle newborn even after 1 month ?

Hi Mummies, My baby is 37 days old now but I still need to swaddle him so that he can sleep properly. Otherwise within 10 mins he will get scared and won’t sleep. Hence I have to swaddle him for his day time naps as well as at night. Is that okay ? What do other mummies do ? #firsttimemom #firstbaby

Yes it’s okay to swaddle during sleep. You can try stopping day swaddle after 2-3 months if baby is okay so he can explore his own hands and move about. :) I would stop swaddling for good once baby attempts to flip.

What to do when newborn cries murder during shower

Hi Mummies, My 1 month old baby boy cries murder when we bathe him. I have tried sponge bath, normal bath, singing to him while bathing but nothing works. He literally screams every time I bathe him. Currently we bathe him in a bath tub on the floor as the tub is without stand and we use lukewarm water. Want to know the experience of other mums here on how to manage this kind of situation ? Would have a bath tub with stand be better? Looking for tips and advise 🙏 #firsttimemom

8 mths baby refusing sleep and drink

My little one is 8 mths old but recently she will cry when we carry her in the sleeping position. She cries when we feed her as well. Anyone experienced this? How do you manage them

Ah, you're not alone in this, 8 months is quite a tricky phase because babies go through a big developmental leap around this time, so the sleep refusal and feeding fussiness often come together as a package. The crying when carried in a sleeping position could point to discomfort like gas or reflux, or she might just be overtired and overstimulated, so it's worth thinking through whether anything in her routine has shifted recently. Some mums I know found that breaking the feed-to-sleep association helped, things like introducing a simple bedtime routine of a bath, a song, or a book so baby learns to wind down without needing the breast or bottle as the main cue. That said, there's a balance to weigh here: some babies genuinely still need that comfort feed and will take a full feed even mid-night, so cutting it out too fast can backfire, while others do better once you gently separate feeding from the actual falling-asleep moment. It's worth running it past your PD or a child health nurse though, especially the crying during feeds, just to rule out anything like reflux or ear discomfort that might need a proper look.

Ifc bad communication and weird teacher

They have app but seldom update me. Only update verbally when pickup but the chinese teacher will always say half half cos she said she not sure as it's morning shift teachers. It's very confusing. Should I feedback? The teacher is nice to baby but I don't like the way she handle things. Like she will use baby's bib to wipe her mucus infront of me.

U mean the teacher use to wipe her own mucus? Thats gross. My ger’s ifc used to update when my hb fetch her. though they have app.. now shes in pg but the starting part they would call and update me..
