Mum guilt for pumping > latching

Hello mums who exclusively pump, when and why did you decide to stop latching on directly? I’m already feeling mum guilt that I only latch twice a day and pump more than I latch. Hoping to hear some of your experiences if you don’t mind sharing 🙆🏻‍♀️ #firsttimemom

Help! Baby rashes on body

What is this rashes on my one month old baby’s body? It has been there for few days.. What should I do?

Baby only want to sleep while being held

Not sure because of recently circumcised or this is just a phase. After being circumcised, my baby only want to held even when sleeping. Even when he’s sleeping for quite long but as soon as we place him on his cot, after few minutes he would cry and as soon as we carry him back and soothe him he would fall asleep again. Tried to place him back on his cot, he would cry again. And yes even after being fed, burped, swaddled. He’s 3 weeks old btw. Before this he can sleep peacefully on his cot.

Does this belly button looks normal

My baby’s umbilical cord alr fell off about a week ago and do cleaning around the belly button daily. However today we noticed the upper part of it looks red and a little swollen/bulging out. Is this normal?

yes it’s normal. wil take awhile before it subsides

Medicated plaster during breastfeeding

Hello mums who breastfeed, how do you deal with body aches? Are medicated plasters and medicated oils safe to use if we are breastfeeding?

can use herbal plasters if it helps. i used it during pregnancy

Is it a high chance that 1 bedder is not available at Thomson?

Was informed that if not available they’ll put you in 2 bedder first but will still charge 1 bedder if second night onwards change to 1 bedder. So now considering.. or is it less chance if premier room/suite? #advicepls

Honestly, 1-bedders at Thomson do get taken up quite fast, especially around peak periods, because they only have 33 single rooms compared to 21 twin-bedder rooms, so the odds aren't always in your favour. The charging arrangement you mentioned is real and a bit frustrating, so just go in clear-eyed that you might pay 1-bedder rates even if you spend your first night in a 2-bedder while waiting for one to free up. Someone in my mum group mentioned that the premier suites tend to have slightly better availability since not everyone books at that price point, so if budget allows, that might actually give you more certainty. I'd call their admissions team directly to ask about typical occupancy and whether you can be waitlisted for a 1-bedder from the moment you're admitted, being upfront with the nurses on the day itself apparently helps too.

Baby weight drop 2 centiles

Just came back from my 8 month old baby poly checkup. Dr said that her weight dropped 2 centiles and was referred to KKH to check. Can i check if any parents experience the same thing? I’m worried :(

Don't worry that's normal. My baby was within 90% for height and weight at birth but dropped to 75% aft he starts walking at 9 months. While he maintains his height, his weight went down further to abt 60% aft 1 year old. As long as baby continues to eat and drink normally and still within the healthy range, it's not much of a concern. Genetics might play a part too, my boy is tall but slim like his father now at 2 year old. Though I do miss his chubbiness!

Can your baby sleep on their own?

At what age ur baby sleep on their own and what’s the cue? My baby is 2 months old and she somewhat can sleep on her own, but hor she will move non stop, keep touching her face (sometimes have scratch). I dont need to put her drowsy but awake, jus put her on bed and off light then she will do those actions. So wanna know anyone else LO have different cue?
