My LO is 8 months old.. When she was 7 months old , I tried baby-led weaning (blw) method of feeding . Until one day she almost choke on a carrot and from that day I become fearful to try blw again .. Decided to feed her puree and porridge .. The traditional way of weaning . However, every time I see my fren's son of same age doing blw and can eat so many different whole food, I felt like I've failed as a mother :( feel that I've short changed my LO .. Been feeling lousy for quite a few weeks .. Yet another part of me tells me not to feel pressurized about what other mommies are doing., what should I do to feel better ? Traditional weaning is really so bad ?

Don't feel bad, i'm a mixture of both. U can start blw again with softer texture of foods like sweet potato, papaya, banana. One of the food they will BLW successfully is usually fries, if u dun mind giving them when they are 9-10months. I give without salt. Slowly, ur LO will get better.

My baby girl is going to be 9 months old on the 8 of July. She used to be able to take 1.5 to 2 hours nap in the after late morning so that I can catch up my housework. Recently, she only sleep when I nurse her but she wake up within minutes after I lay her on bed. I dont mind nursing her to sleep at all but I need to do housework and prepared dinner for my elder child and she needs her naps. I babywearing her too but she will nap for a while and want to nurse again (she only want nursing in lying down position and wont take them unless I lay down with her). Once she's alseep, I will find my way away but she will wakes up within 10 minutes again. The cycle just keep continue. Please help!!

When she wakes up, does your baby cry or fusses around? If she doesn't, maybe you can let her stay awake while you do your chores? That what a friend of mine does. It is so difficult to put her daughter down for a nap so she would let baby play by herself while she works. Baby is never left alone, always in the vicinity and she would usually entertain herself and sometimes she'd fall asleep on her own. This is the chair my friend uses.

My 2 months old baby always crying during evening time? Is that because of colic?

Sounds like colic to me, which is uncontrollable, non stop crying in an otherwise healthy baby. The crying often happens in the late afternoon and evening, and increases over the weeks until it reaches a peak. However, rest assured that babies grow out this colic crying phase between 3 months to 4 months. Studies have shown that colic could likely be due to a part of your baby's normal development. Baby's brain is busy processing all the information he or she sees and hears, hence it is inevitable that baby gets a bit irritable after a long day of learning new things.

a friend of mine had mentioned the same which is when i first heard about it. It is a type of viral infection that mostly affects children between years 4 and 10, even though it can happen anytime during childhood or even adult years. some of the most common symptoms are fever, stomach pain, digestive problems, and headache, but can often get misdiagnosed as a stomach bug or simple viral fever too. It mostly spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and the virus spreads to those who come in contact. What are the symptoms of slapped cheek syndrome in children?

Slapped cheek syndrome is a mild to moderately contagious viral infection common among school children aged three to 15, occurring particularly in the winter and early spring. Slapped cheek syndrome is caused by parvovirus B19 and is spread by respiratory secretions from an infected person. By the time the rash appears, children are no longer infectious. The incubation period (the period between infection and signs or symptoms of illness) is usually four to 14 days, but can be as long as 21 days. Adults who work with young children such as childcare providers, teachers, and those in healthcare fields are most likely to be exposed. Here are the symptoms of slapped cheek syndrome in children: - High temperature (fever) of 38C (100.4F) - Bright red cheeks - A flat or raised red rash, usually on the arms and legs, which lasts from two to 39 days and may itch. The rash fades from the centre of red areas towards the edges, giving it a lacy appearance. The rash can recur after exercise, warm baths, rubbing the skin or emotional upset. - Less commonly, headache, sore throat and joint pain The following symptoms are more frequent and more severe in adults with parvovirus B19 infections, and they generally precede the rash, which often does not occur in adults, by seven to 10 days: - Headache - Sore throat - Muscle pain - Joint pain - Abdominal pain - Fever Most foetuses are unaffected when their mothers contract the virus, and it has not been proven to cause birth defects. However, if a foetus becomes infected, the virus can disrupt the foetus's ability to produce red blood cells, leading to a dangerous form of anaemia, heart failure, and sometimes miscarriage or stillbirth. What is croup?

Hi, croup is a common respiratory condition in children usually caused by a viral infection or allergic reaction. It affects the windpipe (trachea), the bronchi (airways to the lungs), and the larynx (voice box). A child with croup will have a cough that sounds like a dog barking, as well as making a rasping noise called stridor as they breathe in. I have been sending my LO to polyclinic for her vaccine and just wonder why there weren't any development checks conducted? Is it normal? I have been reading up flat head and checked on my LO, she seems to be had a flat spot on her back of the skull. Please advise... Thanks

Not all check ups will have the development checks. U might want to check with Pd if u worry bout ur LO
