LO is 25 days now and my milk output is only about a total of 2 ounce (on good days). Is there any way to increase my breast milk supply?

Baby is currently 5.5 months old and is rejecting bottle feeding of expressed bm. He just had his 2 teeth erupted through the gums. Yet to start solids. Is this normal and what can be done to encourage bottle feed as a working mum? TIA!

Hi, guess it is pretty normal due to the teething discomfort. U can try to get teething gel and then put it abt 10 mins or so before u bottle feed so that it numbs the pain and baby is more likely willing to work on the bottle for a longer period of time. Depends on u, u can also consider giving solids if u worry intake not enough. Feed more often at lesser volumes so as not to waste the bm too. Also give baby teether to comfort baby's gums ya

any suggestion to wean off comfort latch habit? LO is abt 7+ month & seems like going back to her 2nd month old sleeping habit. super difficult to soo her to sleep. Once place on bed - scream & cry. Even put her down in cot to change diaper she also cry murder.

My left boob will get engorge every 4-5 hourly, while my right boob doesn't get engorged even after 6 hours of not expressing. Whenever I express, my right boob always yields lesser than my left. The yield will probably be only half as compared to my left yield. How do I make sure both sides yields the same amount. I didn't have this problem when I just began bf-ing my newborn who is turning 3 months old soon.

Try latching the right breast more often instead of the left. After pumping you can apply cold compress over the left breast to moderate the supply. Apply warm compress over the right breast before latching or pumping to facilitate the flow. I have been on tandem breastfeeding and both breasts do not yield the same amount. It really depends on baby's needs. During warmer days my baby will prefer the left breasts and before sleep, she will prefer the right breast. I was told the left breast is water and the right breast is rice. When I looked at my ebm, the left side is usually more watery and right side yield is thicker.

How do you clean your nipple during confinement? Can use wet wipes? Is it safe for my lo to bf if I am using wet wipes?

Hi mummies, anyone encounter your newborn want to keep latching on and too full till splitting out milk but still keep crying to latch. Should give pacifier? Am concern if pacifier is introduce may face problem to latch again.

newborn wake time is 45mins. if that time has elapsed and your baby is still awake and crying, it's not crying for more milk. you need to put her to nap.

Is it I must have a balanced diet or what I eat have to be full nutrition if I'm breastfeeding? Is it what I ate will be fully passed to breastmilk? I keep my diet well like eat more fish and no snacks no any spicy no any gassy food until LO 6-7months. Now I start to back to normal diet. Doest it mean that my breastmilk will lack of nutrition now?

just eat everything in moderation and take note of milk killers!

How long do u all normally take to pump? I always take abt 1 hr includes 30 mins pumping and hand expressing cos my pump cannot empty my breast ~ is it normal ??

I hand express too. I take about an hour that is provided breast is really full. Otherwise I don't empty my breast usually. I'll just pump about half an hour each side. Hand express.

Im joining work in a couple of weeks' time. Pls can anyone share their pumping schedule and how to build a freezer stash. Also how to pump at work, sterilise pump parts, store milk and transport back home? Thanks in advance.

If you're direct latching your LO, you can pump out the excess after each feed to freeze. I pump in the morning at 6am, then feed my girl (or if she wakes up first then I'll feed her then pump). Then pump at 1 plus (sometimes 11+ if there's a meeting at 1+, 2) then another 1 around 4+, 5. Then go home will be latching my girl whenever she want then pump again before I go to bed at ard 12. So far, I haven't touched my frozen stash yet. At work, I'm very blessed my previous company has a very nice nursing room and fridge for us to store ebm. My current place doesn't have a nursing room but there's a nice room where we can go pump. So you can also go see if there's any nursing room, or meeting room where you can use. I don't sterilize my pump parts at work. I keep them in a air tight container and keep in the fridge. Only wash and sterilize when I get back. Some ppl also use hot water, and some use sterilizing pills. I use a fridge to go which has been an excellent help in transporting my milk and stuffs. A normal cooler bag with ice pack does the trick too unless you're traveling very long distance.
