Anyone can share experiences of bringing in ebm to Perth without travelling with LO? And how do you bring back the breastmilk? Many thanks!!!

If you're planning to bring EBM on board then they will all need to be packed in 100ml (find 100ml bottles or storage bags). Put it in a good cooler bag (eg fridge to go) with ice packs that can last the whole trip. On the way back, will your milk be frozen? If so, you can put it in cooler box with ice packs (or dry ice) and check it all in. To retain temperature, best to have a few ice packs. You can put the milkbags in zip lock and rewrap with newspaper to retain the coldness too.

Yes it's perfectly normal for period to come while breastfeeding.

Hi, my LO is 1 week 3 days old. I feed him by latching and formula, sometime I express out the breastmilk. I am wondering why everytime I latch him he seem to not feeling full and keep wanting to drink again after awhile. Sometime I latch him, he fall asleep or push the breast away so I thought he had enough and I put him on bed. But about 10 mins he start to be cranky again and want to drink milk, this last for 1 hr plus and I have no choice but to give him formula. Any mummies experience this?

It might be that your little one is seeking comfort latch as well

Any mummy using freemie now? I read from blogger review and it mention the freemie not suitable for big cup size mummy, is it true? Thanks

Hi, I don't use freemie but was considering to getting one last time and have close friends who use it (who meet ur criteria). The newer freemies are not that opaque so u can roughly see how much u pump. It depends on the ability of ur bra to hold the freemies well in place (I feel that it spoils ur bras that way too). Because the suction or how tightly it is held to ur boobs are not as good as holding by hand or the regular hands free bra w normal flanges, it will take longer to pump out the same vol - so in the end I didn't get

Currently bfing my 19mo by latching. I have the privillage to bring him to work for him thus i am able to latch this long. He will be going to school next year Jan. He is unable to accept bottles. He is okay with drinking packet milk and milo. Straw bottles are mainly water for him. I am unable to convince my family that fresh milk are okay for them since they are 1yo and above. Any other ways that i can intro FM to my child?

Fm in cups ? Not necessary bottles. Since he is already 19 Mths he may think that bottles are for babies

Hi all Is there any other way to increase supply besides drinking more water n latching baby? My left side (lower supply breast) I only able to pump/hand express 30ml. Feels very empty and baby like not full also. I've been latching him much more frequently on this side yet it seem to be dropping n dropping... I'm only 2mpp...

Have u tried lactation cookies, tong cao, oat etc?

Having blocked ducts. Tortured myself hand expressing. Finally a good 100ml. And I toppled it off. Sigh.??

Mummies, to produce more milk, is it to wear nursing /maternity bra or normal bra will do?

I am at my 1 week plus confinement and few days back I can pump like 80ml for both side of breast and suddenly my supply drop dramatically and now I can only pump 20ml to 40 for both. I am so sad that I cannot produce milk for my LO. Any mummies encounter this?

Are you having sufficient rest? Lack of sleep can cause a drop in supply. Besides that you also need to increase your liquid intake daily. I would say at least 3 litre of water (red date tea, soup, tonic etc). Besides that, you need to be very diligent in pumping. If you're pumping exclusively, you will need to pump every 3 hours to increase and maintain supply. Hope this helps.

My gal is 8 weeks old and she on both BM and FM. My qns: 1. She falls asleep halfway while breastfeeding. Should I pump it out or wait for her to wake up for more feeds? 2. She doesn't like to be swaddled up and always 'fights' to have her hands out. Is it necessary to swaddle her? 3. I've just introduced pacifier to her tdy. When I tried to breastfeed her, she seems a little confused and took a while to suckle / drink. Is this considered as nipple confusion and if so, what can I do? TIA

1) observe wat is the trend for her these 1-2 times. If she is able to wake up after a short while (within an hr) then i guess u can wait for her to latch again. Otherwise u should pump it out as not enough milk removal from the boobs will trigger a drop in the supply 2) there are many theories for swaddle. It works for some baby by keeping them tight and secure feel but do what works for ur baby. Recently its also being discussed swaddle is not good for the hip/leg development. U can consider those cocoon style swaddle or just ditch the whole thing 3) it is a little nipple confusion as she s not ire which will give her milk but it is normal and will only happen a couple of times because babies are very smart, after a few suckles, they can v v well distinguish between the 2. No need to worry, my baby was on bottle, nipple, nipple shield, pacifier - still will latch. Soon in the future, they will know what is pacifier and will toy with it or outright reject it when u wish they didn't.
