Increase milk supply

Hi I’m a FTM, EP, just nice supply Lo is 9mth not latching since 2mth My supply sudden drop drastically She is drinking 900-1080ml per day When recently my supply is 700 per day Now using freezer milk. I tried power pump, fenugreek, lactation cookies but still no use. My breasts feel empty… I’m desperate for milk!!! Any more ideas on how can I increase my supply? I hope to give her BM till 18mths

try to relax but if really not enough just top up with FM, will ease with the transition later on too

Nipple size shrink due to pump session

Can your nipple size suddenly shrink when you pump often? I just bought a new set last mth but think my nipples has shrink cos I can't feel any pain when I set my pump to a high level of suction like I used to feel.

Hi hun! Don't worry it happens, to me too. I learnt the hard way! i didnt know that i could change the flange measurements to suit me and so i remembered having to squeeze my breast on to the pump flange and rest my breast a certain angle and a certain way so that the pump could pump the milk out from my nippies. Torture lol! so.... You might want to change your Flange to fit you better.

Gender disappointment

I have 2 gals and now I preg with 3rd one. Been hoping for a boy yet turns out to be another gal. I can't help feeling so sad. I have did what I can to try increase the % of getting a boy. I am so disappointed and envy friends with boy. How to overcome this feeling.

Hungry after breastfeeding

Anyone gets hungry after breastfeeding baby?? I have been eating alot everytime after Iatching my baby or pumping session… and I cant diet as I will eat even more!! Is this normal? :((

Same! I can't stop eating/snacking 😅😅 the body takes a lot of energy to produce milk so at least you won't gain (a lot of) weight. But it does make dieting really hard. I try to eat somewhat healthy snacks (nuts, fruits, yogurt) and exercise a bit here and there. It's tough but at least you know it's worth it since baby is getting all the nutrition from you :)

Exclusive Pumping But Low Supply

I decided to go exclusive pumping as I’m not sure if my baby is full after nursing. In the first month, i pumped 4-5 times a day and each session with about 60ml of beastmilk after emptying both breasts. I’ll pump about 15mins per breast. My baby now drinks about 100ml per feed. So I’m topping up formula during the day and full formula at night as my breastmilk won’t be enough to feed her. Any breastfeeding mummies can share how do i increase my milk supply now as I’m in my second month?

Hi mama, Many mamas find that the best way to increase BM supply is by directly latching. We measure input by monitoring baby’s output: if baby is gaining weight well and producing a minimum of 4-5 wet diapers a day, you’re doing splendid. To maintain milk supply, milk should be removed once every 3 hours - 8 times in 24 hours. Pumping at night is also beneficial as this is when your oft produces the most amount of milk. Confinement vs Breastfeeding food

Is there a conflict in Chinese confinement food and breastfeeding food? I am given the impression Chinese confinement food focus on replenishing mother’s body but might affect or hinder breastmilk and if focus on breastfeeding food then mother’s body is not really replenished during the 100 days of confinement

Hey KB, I think there are many confinement foods that can help boost milk supply too. I don’t think they are mutually exclusive. Even the alcohol used to cook is mostly evaporated during cooking. You can both nourish your body and prime it for breastfeeding at the same time!

Manual vs Electric Breast pump

Hi all! FTM here. How do you know which pump is suitable? I’m planning to get the electric breast pump but WHAT IF i can’t produce my own milk for my baby? Will it be a waste of money to get the electric one? My concern right now. If i were to get manual and i can provide breast milk to baby, i will eventually get the electric one too. So what is your best advice out there parents?

Buy electric pump more worth it, save time. Spectra has alot of good reviews.
