Hi Mummies, are we supposed to buy flange for breastpump beforehand or after birth? Also, how do we professionally measure to get the right flange size?

The lactation consultant at Thomson Medical Centre visited me the morning after my delivery to give me a consultation, teach me to latch and measure my nipple size.

My baby has been sleeping alot in day time eversince we got discharged from the hospital. I’m worried as a first time mom, for her feedings. Any advices?

we were advised to wake baby up by the 3rd hour mark in the day, and 4th hour mark in the night for feeds.

First time mum who wish to pump BM but unable due to tired and unable to wake up 3 to 4 hour for each session. Each pump only get 10ml to 30ml. Any advise if i should enagage those breast massage like Ida or Iza (cant remember the name) to see if there's any blockage?? Any advice?

Keep pumping! Blockage usually is quite painful or you can feel lump in your breast. Pumping is exhausting but you'll need patience and perserverance. If you've just given birth or still below 4 mths pp, you'll need to pump 8-12 times a day to increase your supply. Try to do power pumping too especially when your baby is asleep. I often do it only at night when baby is already in bed. By 4 mths normally your supply is established and you can already pump 4-5 hrly to maintain your milk supply.

Placing baby at in law house, bring back baby cry

After maternity leave gotta back to work.. But work twice a week which I place 3-4mth old at on law house.. When I bring back home from third day.. He crying non-stop even I carry him #advicepls #firstbaby #1stimemom .. Any advice? If I bring back and forth.. Will he just use to 2environment?

What's this splatter?

Does anyone know why is there a splatter of milk all over the inside of the bottle when I pump my milk? Is the valve spoilt or? (Using Spectra)

Low milk supply

I am now 18 days PP and pumping total only 50ml each time. Is there still hope to increase milk supply? I have been trying to latch my baby 3 hrly, drink water and also eat lactation cookies but nothing seems to work. Any advice please. #firstbaby #advicepls

You're still early, only 18 days pp so yes high chance can still increase your supply. Lactation products does not work all the time. All you need to do is - frequent removal of milk for 8-12 times a day or latch on demand. Milk supply is established at 3-4 mths pp.

Squeezing breast dry after pump

Just curious, but do you hand express the residual milk in your breast after each pumping session? Not sure how I developed this habit, but I just do. Not sure if it is common, but if it is, is it necessary? I'm going back to work soon, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to squeeze my boobs dry back in office 😅#1stimemom #advicepls

Yes, always do hand express after pumping. You may get an extra oz or 2 by doing that.

Fenugreek for lactation

Hello mummies. My 28 mo has finished breastfeeding and I have 6 x bottles of Fenugreek tablets which I'd rather not waste. (One x Belvea, 5 x Nature's Own brand). Helped me with my milk production. Let me know if you'd like them

Omg lucky you!!! My 20 months still have no sign of weaning! 🥲. May I know when is the expiry date for the fenugreek?
