Imani pump flange size

Hi mummies, anyone using Imani and realised that your suitable flange size for Imani is different from your flange size when using other pumps (eg Spectra)?

Manual vs electric breastpump

Any mummies can share their experience and advice on which one is better? I have friends saying electric is painful and slow / inefficient, and I am thinking if it’s possible to just direct latch and manual pump. #advicepls #firsttimemom

I think most mothers today prefer using electric over manual because it uses less energy? Manual quite inconvenient. Electric is NOT painful if you find the right flange size according to your nipple size. For this, the hospital nurse that you deliver in maybe able to help you find the right size. It’s NOT slow and inefficient unless you get a super cheap, unknown brand pump. If you get a good hospital grade one, it works very well. But yes, nothing works better than direct latch. Baby’s ability to latch well and suckle well is the most powerful “pump”. Manual is perhaps only useful if your electric one breaks down and you are desperate to release milk.

My son suddenly dont want to drink his milk

My son like to drink his milk alot, but recently he fever and vomited. After he recovered, he no longer want to drink his milk. I have tried to change the milk powder brand, but he still dont want to drink it. Should I bring him go see doctor? Or is there any other method to let my son drink his milk?

Hi Sis, I’ve seen this happen before also after kids fall sick, sometimes they just “reject” milk for a while because they link it to feeling unwell or their taste buds change after fever and vomiting. If he is eating other food, active, and drinking water, I would try not to force the milk first and just offer smaller amounts or even mix it into cereal or porridge to slowly reintroduce.If it goes on for more than a couple of weeks or he starts eating and drinking very little overall, then better to bring him see doctor just to rule out anything else. Sometimes it’s just a phase after illness, so don’t stress too much first okay.

Small boobs can breastfeed?

Noob question 🤣 but I was wondering , does people who have small breasts (A cup / B cup type) successfully breastfed their baby? I'm quite flat chested and I'm worried that it might contribute to a failure of breastfeeding as baby will have a harder time to latch on. I was unsuccessful with bf-ding for my firstborn , but I wanna try with my upcoming one. Bm is definitely the best for babies and I really don't wanna resort to formula feeding unless there's really no production. Care to share your experiences (for those with small boobies? But success in bf)

When do you take milk boosters? If you can still have 120ml in each pump will you?

I take them as long as I’m still pumping. Regardless of the supply 😂. I take it like a daily supplement together with my sunflower lecithin. But tbh, at the later stage (as you start to decrease pump sessions), these milk booster (regardless of salmon, Milo, bbt or capsules) don’t really work as well anymore. I take them to stay in denial that it will help “maintain” my supply 😅.

Milk supply fenugreek

Does eating fenugreek meds makes your armpit smells ? Cus im very insecure and lmk what other meds that i can consume to increase my milk supply. And yes i do eat lactation cookies and drinks. Also my milk is very diluted??? Help pls

I don’t know if it makes your pits smells but fenugreek may not work for everyone, it decreases supply for some. Which probably didn’t work for you since you mentioned you’re already taking lactation cookies and drinks. So you’re basically back to square one. Our bm is made up of mostly water so it’s very normal for your milk to be dilute. Don’t watch too much “ads” where they keep promoting creamy pudding milk. End of the day, thick or not, it’s still the same milk and nutrients. Just make sure to pump or nurse frequently and drink more water/soups. If your milk is too thick and clogs, take sunflower lecithin.

Lochia discharge

Any mummy experience lochia discharge after 6 week from birth? My newborn was 6 week old. I notice suddenly I have some spotting. I puzzle was still the balance from birth or my period is back. I fully breastfeeding. Latch on demand. Didn’t express out. No bottle feed.

Pure Breastmilk diet , my LO now is 7weeks old. Any mommy who experienced no poop for about 5-8 days? Or longer? What did you do to help baby poop? Is it normal to not pass even after a week? Thanks! #BreastMilkAlwaysBestForBaby

For bf babies, it’s normal for them to go without pooping for up to 14 days, however you can try to give baby probiotics to help them poop. I use Biogaia for baby.
