Cramping & Numbing

Hi. I am in my 1st trimester and this is my first child after 2 years of trying. Wanted to ask someone for experience, Is it normal if you have a cramping,numbing effect on either of your legs? And pain on your pelvis?

It’s normal to have cramp because your uterus is expanding. It would be similar to menstruation symptoms. I don’t remember having numbing effect on my legs. If it gets very bad, please consult your gynae.

NIPT or OSCAR test?

Approaching the 12 week mark and wondering if mummies here opted for NIPT or OSCAR? I was rather taken aback by the drastic price difference haha wanted to hear your thoughts in choosing either!

Back then, most mommies I know advised me to go for Oscar since I’m still in my early 30s and shouldn’t waste my money because there will be more expenses in the future. I went for Oscar in the end! If you have family history of Down syndrome, in higher risk age, or would like to know the gender of the baby, you should opt for NIPT to have a peace of mind.

Dr Wong Heng Fok-Thomson Women’s Clinic Tampines

Anyone had Dr Wong as a gynae before? FTM here, I’ve visited his clinic once and felt that he was a pretty decent doctor. However, would like to get some feedback as to whether he is pro-natural? Would like to avoid C-sec as much as possible (understand that this is something we can’t really control, but would ideally prefer a pro-natural birth doctor) TIA!

Bleeding on 4w3d

I had a 18hrs bleeding on my 4w3d and with cramps for first 6hrs. I rushed to hospital yesterday which is on 4w4d to be exact. It’s was brownish red blood with some webs lookalike mucus. HCG level was from 642iu/l on 4w to 1930iu/l from yesterday blood test results. Doc did some ultrasounds but nothing can be found in my womb other than fibroids. I was asked for a follow up in 48hrs to check on my beta HCG if it decreases. Anyone has the same experience? Pls advise.

I had a similar experience, had light bleeding for about 1 week plus but no cramps. I was about Week 4 when I went down to my gynae to get an ultrasound done to check. But the doctor suspect it was still early into the pregnancy. Also did a beta HCG test on that day and another test two days later to check if the levels doubled. Thankfully it did. Now am at Week 9 into my pregnancy. All the best! Take it easy, rest, and try not to stressed yourself out too much.

I am in 6th week, and I feel weirdly nauseated almost all the time. I start feeling burpy. It is like pre-vomit feeling but no vomit. Is this normal? And what can be done to relieve this? It is hard to focus on anything else with such uneasiness.

Try using seabands and drinking small sips of carbonated drinks or sparkling water! Walking around and getting some gentle movement in helps me with this burpy gassy feeling too.

5 weeks pregnant but keep feeling hungry.. no morning sickness but nauseous at night. is it normal?

Wake up and stomach will growl and feel hungry .. at night before sleep will feel nauseous and feel like puking #newmom

yeah I heard you will feel more symptoms from week 7/8 and if not just consider yourself lucky. I'm week 5 too and I'm just mostly tired with no other symptoms so let's just enjoy the easy bit while we can lol.

Nurumol/Nurofen

I’ve taken Nurumol/nurofen pill (only one) when im 3-4weeks pregnant, cus thats the only pill that can lessen my toothache. Will it harm my fetus? Im so scared! Cus im not taking it anymore😭😭😭

pls ask a gynae or gp asap as this isn't a medical forum and it isn't safe to get such advice from the people on the Internet

Protein and iron nutrition?

Can I get some suggestions on what powder/tablets I can take for protein and iron in first trimester? I am a vegetarian, so getting it all from diet seems difficult. Appreciate your responses.

you can ask the gyno because it will be tough to get such advice here.

Sharing about being pregnant

Not a question - just venting that it's so hard when you're in the first trimester where culturally we don't share but all I want to do is yell at everybody that I'm making a new human. I know it's precarious but life is life mah and anything can happen anytime why should I only share after the first three months lol.

feel u sis. especially when people around u are asking when it's your turn to have a baby.
