Advice on pumping milk

Hi mummies, For someone who is currently exclusively bottle feeding formula as well as breast milk, I do not feel like going out of the house. I find it a chore to pump outside. However I miss going to places and socialising with friends. Any advice? 🥺

I pump right before I leave the house but I can only stretch up to 4 hours plus then it gets quite uncomfortable

Difficulty feeding

My 2 months old have been having difficulty feeding. He’s on fm and whenever drinks a few gulps he’ll start choking and drinking and it continues like that throughout. Is this serious and what can i do to help?

Try downsizing the teat, it’s probably too fast for him.

Overfeeding? Help.

Baby is 6 weeks old and based on the weight, he should be taking 600ml daily. But at the moment he is constantly hungry, and daily intake is about 800-900ml. (90ml/2 hourly) I know the weight-base feeding volume is just a rough guide, as each baby is different. It’s just that baby’s appetite is alarming to me. (Baby is on formula by the way) Sometimes baby spit out milk, sometimes milk came out from his nostrils as well. Does any mummy experiencing similar situation?

Mine is 6 weeks and drinks 150ml per feed (BM). She does 5-6 feeds per day so total 900ml. I think as just take your babies cue :) and look at total daily intake instead of each intake.

Travelling without LO

FTM here .. Just asking - if anyone travel with husband without LO? My husband wanted to treat us to a little getaway for a 8 days trip.. my MIL and mom are both supportive as they mentioned that we won't be able to enjoy as next time wherever we go we have to bring LO already.. LO will be around 6 months old if we were travel.. my mom will be taking care of LO full time when I end my maternity leave. I'm in a delimma as I couldn't bear to part with my LO. But my husband keep encouraging me to "let go" and enjoy this trip as we may not be able to fully enjoy with Just 2 of us once LO is older.

I did, for 10 days, when my baby was 6mo+ It was hard to be away from my baby, and I needed to pump during the trip to keep the bm flowing. But it was also nice to unwind and experience some childless days, which is hard to come by. I think men are more relaxed when it comes to parting with baby. It doesn’t seem to bother my husband too 🫤

B1 or Subsidized ?

I'm currently under follow up as a private patient and my gynae has suggested that I'll be induced in mid Jan. I'm not sure if I should remain as a private patient (B1) or drop to subsidised class. Anyone able to share their experience if they drop class? Also if any mummies just recently gave birth in B1 what is the initial deposit? I tried going for financial counselling but they said it's too early for me to know about the costs

If you are under subsidised, most likely it will not be your gynae who will deliver your baby. Will have to check with the hospital regarding this, if you prefer your gynae to deliver your baby.

Living with in laws

Hi mums in what age do you get your bto keys? How long do you live with in laws? Having a hard time thinking i have to wait another 6 years to get our own house. Should i get a rental flat and live our own life or hang on 🥲

How does this have to do anything with pregnancy or baby? Are you asking this because u have a baby and don’t want to stay with in-law?

My baby is 1 month 11 days old but he is still not looking at me in the eye and not responding to his name. Is this normal or should I be worried? Both my girls were already looking and smiling at me at 1 Month old.

I don’t think baby that young is able to respond to name? Maybe can check with the nurse/doctor when you’re bringing him for 2 months vaccinations
