Taste buds change during 2nd trimisterp

I cannot taste chillies since last few days.. dont feel the burning taste on tongue when I eat chilli.. is it normal?

Hi mum, pregnancy can really change our taste buds and many mums also find foods tasting different suddenly. You can mention it to your gynae or polyclinic doctor next visit, but it usually settles down after a while.

You will have it even when you’re not pregnant. Just that the frequency and amount will be lesser.

Vagina smell like chocolate

Hi mummies! Anyone has the same issue where your vagina smells sweet / chocolatey? Even though it smells sweet but i am so uncomfortable with the smell. I wonder if anyone besides me can smell it too. I feel so self conscious. What should i do?

It might be good to bring this up with your gynae or polyclinic doctor just to be safe, because any change in your body is worth getting checked out properly. They will be able to tell you if it is related to your diet, hormones, or anything else, and you will feel so much better once you have that peace of mind.

Is confinement necessary?

Hello mums! I live overseas and are looking to have a confinement lady. However cost is high due to overseas travel. Do you think it’s really necessary to have a confinement lady? My mum will come before hand and bring me all the herbal soups, baths and assist with misc stuff around the house. She could try cook with recipes. I’m also not really familar with the confinement practices . I would love to have one as I know it’s a big help, then again, with the money, I could do a lot by spending it on baby etc

Confinement meaning to help in physical recovery, mentally and emotionally. It is where you have a newborn and adjusting to the new member in your house. At the same time resting and healing yourself after going through pregnancy and labour. Thus, to me it is necessary. It is also a period where you get to have confinement food, learning all about motherhood, pampering urself with PP massage and the bonding period with your newborn. It is also a best time to get back in shape and ensuring your body gain strength while adjusting to all the new things around you.
