Just gave birth via csec a week ago. Wasnt expecting to have a csec and wasnt expecting to feel so down and sad after delivering. Its such a complicated feeling. I created this beautiful baby but at the same time he seems so foreign to me. I feel myself trying to distant away from him. While my hubs love him to bits. But i just can’t

It’s ok to have baby blues. I delivered in mid Sep 2023. Same here, I have baby blues. Moreover, I’m taking care of baby without any help from in laws or nanny or helper. Mainly I’m the caregiver as hubs would require to work long hours. I recall upon delivering the nurse did skin to skin and at that moment I was so lost, I told the nurse to get this ‘thing’ (baby) away from me NOW!! On day 3 after birth, I started to have engorgement which hurts so badly! I’ve searched high and low for the meds from gynae to stop my supply. I went nuts for that entire week literally.. As time goes by, spending days together with baby, you will start to change your perspective. It takes time I swear and it’s ok that you take a longer period of time. Most importantly husband’s encouragement helps a lot. And lastly, MOMMY COMES FIRST OK! HAPPY MOMMY; HAPPY BABY! ☺️

Bakuchiol / salicylic acid safe for pregnancy?

I'm using paulas choice salicylic acid wash and exfoliator along with bakuchiol. From what I've gathered online they say it's OK. Any thoughts on this??

Discontinue salicylic acid, not safe. Use physical exfoliators instead.

38 WEEKS PREGNANT

Im 38 weeks pregnant & on 37 weeks i went to for my checkup, the doctor told me im 2cm dilated . Also i was bleeding a lot but they sent me home. Now that im already 38 weeks, there's still no signs of labour, just some vagina pain is that normal? I really wanna give birth soon i can't take it much longer its so tiring😭😭😭 *ps , my due date is 23 october 2023. Now is already 9 october 2023 :(

The bleeding is due to membrane sweep therefore you will feel pain and bleeding. 2cm dilation might be further up open in a week or two depends on progression. Just do lots of walking, up down stairs, squat should you feel the need to help speed up the dilation. You will feel like baby's head gonna come out too. If you're petite, you will feel like a penguim waddling 🤣 I experience both babies as I exceed EDD. Painful with back pain but worth the memories.

38 weeks cramps

hi mummies, i’m 38 weeks + 3d experiencing cramps and slight back ache. no contractions tho. few braxton hicks but they come and go. is labour near? #FirstTimeMumHere

You should count on the contractions minutes/second gaps that you experience. Contraction happened from a range of mild to intense meaning second to 5 mins gap. If this is your first child, it will be long to dilate. However, you should have another check at 39 weeks where they will check if baby's head engaged and cervix has already open up.

Expressing milk

Hi mummies, how was your breastfeeding journey? I was overwhelmed as my milk was not ready when my baby was born so had to intro formula first. Only after the 5 days, my milk appeared but when I tried to pump my milk out but only a little came out. It made me stressed. There was alot of milk spilling too and but i can't seem to express all the milk out, only 30ml each time. Is this normal? Will my milk flow improved overtime?

hi , I too have the same issue as you , you should try anmum essential gold powder,it really help alot .. finally I get to pump quite a lot at least @ 50 ml of milk for baby

anyone recently gave birth at kkh?

hi mummies who have recently gave birth at kkh, im wondering how the procedures are from the start of the admission till the end of delivery. i'll be scheduled for an induced labour on the 7th at 8am and it is written that i should proceed straight to the delivery suite for admission. im wondering if they will be putting me on observation ward first and insert the pill to start labour or will they straight put me into the delivery ward?

You will be in observation to be induced thereafter then will be in delivery suite. Time to time they will check on cervix opening and whatever needed. When it is time to go labour then you will be pushed. They wont put you straight to labour because beds are limited. I was supposed to be induced for my second born just like you but no bed available then I waited right after lunch hours till I go normal ward. My supposingly induced was decline 🤣I only go labour after midnight, I was on oxytocin at labour ward to have my contractions gap closer. Can you imagine more than 12 hrs with 3cm dilating I had mild contractions since morning? Pain level mild because it come and go. I only give birth right in morning at 40 weeks 2 days. But, labour journey wasn't that long, more to chaotic as I was suddenly dilating from 3cm to 10cm seconds after using epidural 🫠

37 weeks induce

first baby went to kkh on 22/09/23 around 230pm induce at 850pm now 24/09/23 630am only opened to 1.5cm what should i do

My edd in oct, im very scared too. Did the doctor wait till u open till 10cm? Or doctor try to speed up by bursting water bag?

First time mummy

Hi everyone i need advice as i at my 37weeks on friday but doctor say she want to induce be at 36.6days isit pain when induce? #advicepls

It varies for individuals. They say contractions will be more painful than normal. For mine, contractions pain was about 2 hours and once I took laughing gas and epidural, no pain.

Induced at wk 39 day 2

Was induced at Mt Alvernia at 7am today. Gave birth at 6pm after 1 hour of pushing. Almost had to vacuum but doctor was good and managed to have final push for normal delivery. Nurses at Mt alvernia are fantastic, I must commend on their promptness and care. Without them, I don't think I can managed to have the normal delivery smoothly. Before my pushing, I was already on epidural since morning. The entire process is pain-free. The contractions I get at home is worst than the actual birth 😅. So I managed to rest and conserve my energy. Dr CK Tho from Astra Jurong Clinic was my doc. He is calm, experienced, and good. Just want to share my birth experience at the new St Anne Mother & Child Centre at Mt Alvernia so perhaps it can help u make a decision. Maybe others may not have a pleasant one but for me, all was really gd.
