Elective C Section

Hi mums, anyone choose csec eventho you have no complications? What did the doctor say when he/she heard about your choice? How was the recovery and also is it a good choice for first time mom, especially if you want more children? I need opinions..thank you

I don't like the waiting games, so I choose csec. Gynae is supportive, her schedule is very pack I guess she prefer planning as well the healing process is not as complicated or scary as most article says, I didn't take any painkiller on day 2 of csec, walk as per normal also on day 2 onwards with the help of binder had 2nd csec after 2years, carried my 1st born during confinement, no issue at all

Elective c sect

Gynae want me to choose a date for elective c sect. Normally how you will choose the date? Go to fengshui master to ask or any other advice?

personal preference 1st born didn't really choose the date, I follow gynae schedule, she's going on leave so I choose the last day before she go on leave and that day is actually completed 37 weeks which is safe for csec for 2nd baby I follow 1st baby birth date which is 38weeks. Both have same birth date 😊

Kkh visiting policy

For those who recently gave birth via c section at kkh and stay in A ward, may I know if husband allowed to enter the operating theatre with u? And if toddler is allowed to visit in ward? As I read online the kkh visitor guideline, children below 12 years old are not allowed to visit.

Operating theatre and A ward are separate. Go OT first then ward. Toddler not allowed in wards.. yes the guideline is still the same

Hello 👋 mums Would like to ask when our mummies start to wash baby clothes and everything? By which week? Im currently week 31 :) Pls share with me.. All of the items is still in packaging . Me thought by week 35 can strt washing, but kinda late like that. Ya

I started washing 1 month before EDD 😊

Week30, back sprain while cutting a tie nail

I was sitting on the sofa trying to cut a toe nail and right after that I could straighten my back, couldn’t sit back or stand up straight and I have difficulty walking. Lifting my left feet up hurts so much it make both my legs shiver. Anyone else have experience in back sprain? Any remedy for me that is pregnancy safe?? 😭😭

I'm sorry to hear about your back pain. Sprained backs can be painful and can make it difficult to move around. The best thing to do in this situation is to rest and avoid activities that may worsen the pain. You can also try applying ice to the affected area to reduce swelling and pain. If the pain persists or becomes severe, you should contact your healthcare provider for further advice. It's also a good idea to avoid cutting your own toenails while you’re still pregnant to avoid any similar injuries

Medical Ceritificate

I was send for a fetal scan today by my doctor at NUH. I am under subsidised route. I requested for mc but was not given as it was just a scan and no doctor’s visit. Is this normal practice? #pregnancy

yes it’s normal because only doctors can issue MC, regardless subsidized or private. scan technicians (sonographers) cannot issue mc.

High HR for 28weeks pregnancy

Hi would like to check with preggy mummies who is 28 weeks preggy, i often or daily have high heart rate of 110-115 and experiencing on and off palpitation, is it normal?

Shingles during 3rd tri

Hi Hi Any mummies have any experience with shingles in their 3rd tri? I’m just diagnosed with shingles around my left eye and left face. :( Unsure what medication and what I can do to make myself feel better. Pls share your experience if any of you had shingles during pregnancy!

yes it’s v normal. best to ask ur gynae or GP for medication!

Track baby movement

Hi mummies, is it compulsory to track baby’s movements?

not compulsory. but after 28 weeks it’s the best way to identify any problems early and prevent stillbirth.
