Hello mommies, How do we get ourself to dilate naturally. Don't want to be induced. I'm at Week 38 now. Please dont tell me to have sex with my spouse 🤣 i don't have the energy to do so. Please help! #advicepls

Menses Cramp Feeling Like

Hi mommies, Is it normal to feel menses cramp like after you have given birth for normal delivery? Been feeling the menses cramp like few days ago. Is it a concern?

Yes normal to feel cramps post birth as your uterus shrinks back, especially if you are breast feeding.

Ah sameee im also at 37 weeks and been feeling light period-like cramps on and off since 35 weeks or so. And always pooping loose stool.

Anyone give birth at SGH before? How is it like? What to pack for hospital bag?

For the hospital bag, the key thing is that SGH provides the hospital gown during your stay, so you really just need one comfortable outfit for yourself and one for baby on discharge day, no need to overpack on clothes. My friend delivered at SGH and said the nursing staff were attentive, though being a public hospital it can get busy, so you do feel the difference compared to a private setup in terms of waiting time and how much one-on-one attention you get. Worth packing your own toiletries, a phone charger, snacks for your support person, and a light cardigan since the wards can be cold. On balance, SGH is a solid, well-equipped choice especially if you want subsidised rates without compromising on medical care, just go in with realistic expectations on the comfort and privacy side.

Hi, may i know what should i pack for my hospital bag?

Depending on what room you took. I took single. My hospital bag: - 1 Kotex overnight panties for discharge - Comb/Hair claw/hair tie - IC, charger, marriage cert (not sure if they require it now) - Breast pump (Optional, but I brought it so LC can teach me how to use) * I wore back the clothings I went in with, also wore maternity bra so no need bring extra. Thru out my stay, I wore hospital gown and braless unless got visitors. Husband: - 1 set of changing clothes (2D1N) Baby: Nothing. She wore new hospital’s outfit back home. (TMC)

Baby’s weight at 35 weeks

What is your baby’s weight at 35 weeks? Went for my regular appt today and turns out baby is 3.1kg at 35 weeks and estimated to be 3.8-4kg at birth. Gynae was saying that this baby is large. I asked about whether I should take note of my diet etc but was told that there’s nothing much that I can do about it because it’s mostly genes. Just wondering is there really nth that I can do? I want to avoid c-sect as much as possible. I’m a FTM!

Mine was 2.7 at 35 weeks. Ya idt theres much that can be done if its genetic. But gestational weight is just an estimation, some babies were born lesser than their estimated weight

Carpel tunnel syndrome

I am 34 week pregnant and started to have carpal syndrome since 2 weeks ago which affected my daily activities, the pain came especially at night and unable to sleep. Had been taking unpaid leave from my work from the past few days. Is it advisable to request for HL from gynae instead?

You can try. Im currently under kkh private, and gynae very lenient with HL even when i dont have any complication, cs she told me to rest till the day i give birth , mid sept

Fetal weight x Growth scan

Anyone experiencing big baby & so I know what to expect. Growth scan @31weeks shows that baby’s weight is 2.1kg, comparing the average 1.5kg. #advicepls

2kg at 31 weeks. Doctor did not flag anything though, and I'm petite some more (48kg @31weeks). Will be going for another scan this week. Will see how much my baby grows this time round.
