Post c-section tummy bulge

I’m 16 days pp and delivered via c-section. Today I realised that there’s a bulge on top of my c-section wound. Looks swollen? Anyone experienced the same thing? Should I be worried about internal swelling or smth?

Totally understand the worry, that bulge above the wound can look really alarming! From what I've heard, it's actually quite common at this stage because the internal incision is still healing underneath, so fluid and swelling can build up right above the scar line even when the outer skin looks okay. Someone in my mum group mentioned it took them almost two months for that puffiness to fully settle, which honestly sounds long but apparently is within the normal range, a heating pad on low heat was something a few of them found helped with the discomfort. That said, I won't sugarcoat it: if there's any redness spreading outward, warmth to the touch, discharge, or you're running a fever, those are signs you really shouldn't wait on and should get checked straight away rather than assuming it's just normal healing. Every body heals differently, so it's genuinely worth calling your gynaecologist or polyclinic doctor just to get eyes on it and rule out anything like a seroma or infection, better to go and be told "all fine" than to sit and wonder at 16 days pp!

Hospital Bill @ NUH

Hey, mamas. I'm curious to know the cost of your hospital bill. I gave birth in NUH, as a private patient under a senior consultant. Was warded in a single bedder for 2 days. Natural vag birth with epidural + top up (epidural wasn't effective for me in the end) + gas air. My Bill went up to 10k before subsidies and medisave deductions. After all the deductions, it was 4.8k. Was wondering how about you guys? Is this a normal range? I just want to make sure before I pay the bill. Hope you guys can share.

Your bill sounds pretty normal to me, someone in my mum group mentioned paying around $13k before deductions for a vaginal birth with epidural at NUH as a private patient, so your $10k gross is actually on the lower end, which is reassuring. The epidural alone adds roughly $800 on top of everything, and single bedder plus a senior consultant fees do push the total up quite a bit. After Medisave and subsidies, landing at $4.8k out of pocket for a private single room natural birth with epidural sounds like a reasonable final figure, I'd say go ahead and pay with confidence, but no harm double-checking the itemised bill line by line just to make sure nothing looks off.

Confinement food too heaty?

I’m on my second week of confinement and have been eating all the food nanny cooked. Lots of ginger, sesame oil etc. 3rd day of consecutively drinking red date tea, I felt very dehydrated and started taking water instead. Chugged an entire bottle and that night, somehow my milk supply went up. Now I drink mostly water and some red date/red bean water. However, I’m starting to get ulcers with the food I’m eating and I feel extremely heaty. I don’t usually get ulcers. Worried that I get a fever or fall sick. Also baby looks very flushed and red after drinking my breast milk. Seem to get some push back on removing the ginger in my food from nanny. Managed to convince her to add less. 😢😢😫 Anyone also can’t take too heaty food or struggling to manage that?

your milk supply went up because water intake went up! do take supplements too it helps

HELP ME OUT! :(

Hi mommies, Can anybody tell me of this is probably an insect bite? I am sleeping as the same bed as him but no red spots like this. He told me at times its itchy. He used to have this kind of red spots but it was on the hand (1 spot) but today , my toddler has these at his two legs. So heartbreaking. No fever, no vomitting so far. Drinking and eating well. My toddler is 2.5 years old.

It looks like mosquito bites. For itching we apply ceradan soothing gel. Works like wonders. Avoid any heaty food. And best to take to the doctor if it gets worse or looks infected

Is it normal to still feel pain in the c-sect wound 9days pp? My stitch has slight bleeding as well. Like 2 small dots 🥹

Im 5 days pp also have light a circular blood stain

I'm 38 weeks day 5 , I wish my baby will come out soon. Left with 10 more days to due. Not sure what I'm feeling right now..it just weird .

That last stretch before your due date is honestly one of the strangest feelings, like you are so ready but also a little scared at the same time. My girl was the same, she came at 39 weeks and those final days felt the longest of my life. Hang in there, your body is doing all the right things even when your mind feels all over the place. Rest as much as you can now because once baby is out, the real adventure begins lah.

C-section wound slight bleeding

Any mamas experienced slight bleeding on your c-section dressing? Mine has 2 dots of blood and idk when I should be concerned

C-section wound slight bleeding

Two small dots of blood on the dressing is generally considered normal in the early recovery phase, light spotting or a bit of dark blood along the wound line is something many mums have noticed and it usually isn't cause for alarm on its own. That said, there's a difference between minor spotting and something more worrying, so it's worth watching for signs like the bleeding getting heavier, increasing swelling around the belly, the wound starting to look like it's opening, or pain that's getting worse rather than better, those would be reasons to go in sooner rather than later. My own experience after my C-section was that the dressing looked a little alarming at first, but my nurse had already told me small spots were expected as long as nothing else felt off. So the general thinking is: two dots, no other symptoms, probably okay to monitor closely, but if you're unsure or it starts spreading, always better to call your gynae or head back to the hospital to get it checked properly.

Approaching 40 weeks

No one mentioned how lonely, anxious, fustrated it can be when approaching EDD and seeing other mums pop one by one but I still don't have labour symptoms. It really doesn't help when people keep checking in to see if you've delivered and my own husband keep asking me everyday if I'm feeling any labour symptoms. Other mums are already discussing about breastfeeding but I'm still so lonely in the wait.. I know I should be thankful that baby is still healthy and I've more time to myself but at this point, the wait is getting so depressing.. Wondering if any Sep mums are still baking at 39/40 weeks and feeling the same? :(

I'm in my 39 week day 5.. still no contractions and no dilation. Gynea said she will wait till 40 week day 1 and asked me to get admitted to induce labor. fingers crossed 🤞

Mixed feelings about in MIL & Husband

Don't know why MIL & Husband don't even bother to keep the house neat & tidy ,it's always so messy , I don't mind cleaning but at least help me for now coz I'm already 38 weeks pregnant..I'm also a human ,I get tired easily & cranky all time ,but none of them give me any support & concern. Sometimes I wonder why do I even get married to a guy with so many red flags in the first place when everyone else told Me not to go for it. I'm not sure if I should get a divorce. Any help please 🥺

some issues also because I got verbally abused that's why
