Hi Is there any groupchat for parents with kids at raffles kidz?

Hi there! I totally understand the feeling of wanting to connect with other parents when your child first starts at a new school, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first! When my younger one started at a new centre, I found that the parent community made such a big difference in settling in comfortably. From what I have heard, Raffles Kidz Punggol does have class-level group chats, but they are usually set up through Parents Gateway, so it is worth checking there first or just asking the teachers or principal directly to be added. I have heard quite positive things about the centre, someone in my mum group mentioned that the Principal, Gwen, and the teaching team are really warm and approachable, so honestly just dropping them a message directly would probably be your quickest way in. Some parents did mention that the group chats can be a little quiet at times, but the school communication itself seems reliable. Hope you manage to connect with the other parents soon, it really does make the whole journey so much nicer!

Suddenly reject solids

My 8 m/o has been eating solids (purée) well since 6 m/o and has been eating through BLW too, but she suddenly rejected it since a day ago and refused to open her mouth and will cry when we try feeding her. It’s so frustrating, what’s happening??? Will it ever get better?? Recently she lost some weight too as she contracted herpangina from her ifc, and she didn’t want to drink milk. But now she’s able to drink as per normal. Not sure why she rejects food totally now.

it’s teething. even if you can’t see it, the tooth might be cutting the gums. causes poor appetite, and very normal. it will get better, then worse again when another tooth comes out. you’ll get used to it.. until all the milk teeth comes out. my 2 year old still behaves the same.

My 8mos baby seems restless sleeper @ night he wakes up squirm,whines but eyes closed.

He does this almost on consistent times, he puts his pacifier on his mouth,spit it n put again then move n move at bed, sometimes he opens his eyes tries to sleep if cant sleep he will scream n cries. Any moms experience the same?

I just experienced the same exact thing two days back. However mine was because someone gave her chocolate hence it caused her colic. And because of this, she can’t sleep so she’s overtired. We applied ruyee oil on her tummy and soles of both feet and let her nap as much in the day then forced an early bedtime to turn back the sleeping time. Since your LO is 8mos, although the symptoms are the same, you might wanna check for teething.

It is advisable to use walker for 8 month old ?

sit in walkers no, push-along walker yes. depends on how stable your child is in standing

Any recommendation on PG at Tampines Area ?

Looking for school semi govt semi private

Oh I totally understand the search, when we were looking for schools for my eldest, the semi-government option was also top of mind because you want that balance of structured curriculum with a bit more holistic focus! From what I've generally heard around, St Hilda's Primary is quite highly regarded in the Tampines area, it has that mission school feel with strong values emphasis, and many parents seem happy with the school culture there. Junyuan Primary also comes up often as a solid choice if you're within the distance priority zones. For something a little more private or international in flavour, I've heard Rosemount International School in Tampines mentioned as an option worth looking into, though of course the fees and structure will be quite different from a government-aided school. A mum I know personally did mention that Tampines Primary itself has a good reputation among the neighbourhood schools if you're sticking to the MOE route. Hope that helps narrow it down for you, all the best with the registration, it can feel overwhelming but you'll find the right fit for your child!

baby vomited solids, do i need to top up with milk ?

hi my 8month old just vomited his solids after feeding , first time happening i think he may be too full. Was wondering if i need to top up with milk because it isnt his milk time or did he retain some food so i can just wait for his milk time ? Just afraid now that he threw up his solids he might feel empty again…. He is not crying or anything after the vomiting.

you can just try to feed a bit to see if he takes. he might be hungry but cannot take solids
