Im someone who dont believe in superstitious (pantang). I may follow some but with valid reasons. Ive been drinking icy water and cold food way before i was pregnant up till now in 3rd trimester. I get annoyed whenever people confronted me and say “cold again. Later your baby got asthma” i just sarcastically laugh at it everytime cos i dont wanna be rude. Can people just stop with all this nonsense pantang? Please do a research i meant lots of research and find the actual reasons behind those pantang. I can say 90% of all the pantangs are myth. I still respect those who follow pantang but please lah dont give such comments about my baby having asthma or what just because i never follow their belief 🙄🙄🙄

No choice but to deal with it. More unsolicited advice will come your way when baby is out. Just take it from a place of concern even though it is inaccurate. 😀

Breathless in 30 weeks especially wearing masks.

I have recently breathless encounters these few days especially when walking too fast or wearing masks. And feeling pain all around under breast area. Is it normal?

Covid Positive in 3rd Tri :(

Was having sore throat and feeling warm on Sat (no fever) but was ART negative. Went to see a dr the following day (Mon) and was prescribed preg-safe medicine. Don’t see a need to eat them as I feel that I have become better? And I’m tested positive today. Although symptoms are mild and almost gone, I can’t help but to worry when I googled online about the possible effects COVID has on 3rd-tri pregnancy - e.g. preterm labour, etc. 😩 Anyone has similar experience?

It’s really not a big deal as long as you don’t have any secondary health issues and are fully vaccinated. Just keep yourself hydrated and monitor yourself baby as per normal. Get well soon!

Emergency c sect cost at KKH b2 and c ward

Hello fellow mummies. Does anyone have experience delivering at KKH as a subsidiary patient and end up having to go for emergency c-sect ? Can share with me the cost ? Would like to be prepared for any circumstances. TIA!

Hi I gave birth in Oct 2020 via subsidised route and ended up with an emergency c-sect. Post-delivery I developed preeclampsia and was warded for 4 days in B2 ward (6-bedded). My total bill size was about $12k before Govt grant. After, cash topup was almost $5k but thank God I had hospital plan so covered the whole cost. In the end I did not pay anything. I was given cash cheques by my insurance for my daily hospital stay $600 and for my prenatal appointments $1200. Different people, different procedures and charges. My baby’s bill was $3k (before grant) and balance was deducted by my husband’s Medisave. She had to go for phototherapy for 24hrs due to her jaundice.

My baby is 2.6kg & im at my 35 weeks. At the moment, im having on off pain, not sure if its false contractions or contractions. What if i were to give birth at 35 weeks

Usually labor contractions you’ll get every 5-10 mins and get intense.

Hi.. im 32 weeks now. Does anyone have ever felt engorgememt b4 baby born.?? Currently I'm feeling pain and have to constantly massage them. Is this normal???

Errr no cause I can’t even reach.. haha. But have been trying to do lots of kegel exercise whenever it crossed my mind. I’m 35 weeks today. 🥹 and feeling so heavy already.

Dear mummies, I just got tested covid positive. Currently I’m at 30weeks. Having mild fever, sore throat and cough. Also having high heart rate around 120-140 bpm I’m very worried for my baby… Anyone here ever gotten covid during their pregnancy care to share their experience?

I’m in the same boat. Just hoping for the best.
