Brown discharge

Hello, i have brown/bloody discharge that is visible on toilet paper after wipe but that doesn’t soak underwear or daily pad. And it is always visible after workout. Should i stop workout?? My doctor already gave me injection and medicine to stop the bleeding. But i cannot image stopping workout. I am only 7 weeks

Brown spotting at 7 weeks that shows up after workouts is actually pretty common, and the good news is it's usually nothing scary, brown blood is generally older blood, which is a better sign than fresh red. That said, I know a few mums who found that their bodies were basically sending a signal through the spotting to dial back the intensity, especially with exercises like running or cycling; one of them scaled back to gentler movement and the spotting settled down within a week or two. Since your doctor's already given you treatment and knows the situation, it might be worth asking them specifically what intensity level they'd recommend right now, some say lighter workouts like walking or pregnancy yoga are usually fine, but your body and this pregnancy might need something different. It does sound like your body's telling you something, so listening to that feels worth it even if it's frustrating. Definitely check in with your doctor or midwife again if the spotting gets heavier or changes colour, just to be safe.

Amniotic fluid test

Dear fellow mummies, did any of you opt out of Amniotic fluid test? I know this is not a discussion to be made on line. Me and my husband had decided to opt out of it for a few reasons, but the steep cost of the test is also one of the key factors. I guess some part of my heart is seeking assurance.

High Blood Pressure in early pregnancy

Im in my 40s and pregnant with my 3rd child. I have high blood pressure. I had only recently found out i was pregnant. The age gap between my youngest (2nd son) and my current pregnancy is 14 years. I have visited GP for referral to see an obstetrician. At the GP, at first, the doctor told me he will increase my present dosage, - from amLODIPine Tablet 2.5mg to 5mg). When we were at the pharmacy, the same GP doctor kindly came up to us and said he had switched us from amLODIPine to NIFEdipine LA tablet - 60mg. It was a fast process so I didnt really process everything until later. I know I should trust the doctor when he said that NIFEdipine is safer for pregnancy as compared to amLODIPine. But i doubtful fingers turned to google and the risk is there. I fear mongered myself. Anyone has experience with hypertension/ high BP while pregnant or is in the medical industry? Would you like to share some tips and advice on how i can manage myself?

Here's the thing though: your GP switched you to nifedipine specifically because he assessed your situation and knows it's the safer choice for pregnancy. The fact that he came back to explain and change it shows he was being thoughtful. But honestly, with high BP in early pregnancy at 40-plus, this really needs close monitoring by your obstetrician, not just reassurance from forums. Please make sure you keep that OB appointment and bring all your concerns with you, including any worries about the medication. They'll have your full picture and can explain the reasoning in a way that helps you feel more confident. In the meantime, try to stick with what your GP advised. I know the fear is real, but your doctor knows your case. The OB will review everything anyway. Take care of yourself, and try not to spiral on Google too much for this one. You've got medical support on board.
