preterm labour/birth

hi mummies! my gynae told me that i might give birth earlier than my EDD. if you have been through preterm labour/birth, could you please share with me if you don't mind... i have not been sleeping well and worrying a lot about preterm birth😢

What's the reason behind being in labour earlier than EDD? Did your gynae informed you? For preterm baby its is usually born below 37 weeks. Anything after that is full term baby till 42 weeks. For baby that's pre term, they will hold the baby a day or two depends on your LO and they will thoroughly check/scan if needed. Expect follow wherever necessary after discharge. Dont worry much, just relax yourself. Read more article, throw questions to your gyane. Pretty sure they will advice you the procedure or after care needed upon discharge.

Chest discomfort

Hi Mummies, I’m at 32 weeks now. I would randomly get chest discomfort and it can get hard to breathe for some brief moments. Is it normal?

Closer to EDD you will feel the discomfort. It can either be heartburn or acid reflux. This is also due to baby big and has minimal space hence the uncomfortness.

Hi mum, I also started postnatal massage around that timing after my c-section before, but I would say the most important thing is to make sure your wound is healing well and your gynae is okay with it first, especially since you had surgery. After that, you can look for therapists who are experienced with post-cesarean massage because they will usually avoid the incision area and focus more on gentle drainage and body recovery. I got mine through word of mouth from other mums and also checked reviews on those confinement or postnatal massage services that specifically mention c-section experience. If possible, I would also suggest starting with a lighter session first to see how your body reacts before doing a full package.

Baby movement at 30 wks

Hi mommies, I’m currently at 30 wks and my baby is so active , always moving around (kicking , turning etc). I know it’s good but Im having trouble to sleep at nite or Take nap in day. Any1 experience the same as me? Will baby be as active aft they are born? I’m worried as my previous pregnancies are not like this. 😅

I'm at 36 weeks on my second pregnancy. Having heartburn, random night kicks from 2am till 6am always from my little one. But no need to worry, because soon as they are born, they tend to sleep a lot and you can start to slowly recognise or adjust their sleeping pattern.

Helpppp.. Does heartburn give you back pain?

Hi mummies, does heartburn give you back pain? I'm 31 weeks and got woken up from my sleep due to very bad back pain and tightness in chest. It doesn't help to sit up or lie down in another position. :(

Please go to A&E now, bad chest tightness and back pain at 31 weeks that wakes you from sleep is not something to wait on. Better to get checked and have it be nothing than to take any chances.

number of pads used for confinement

hi mummies! may i know how many pads you prepare for confinement use? need to change pad every few hours or? thanks.

Just like menses ill change every few hrs. I will get the Pureen Maternity Pad at Kiddy Palace like 3 to 4 packs so I dont have to repurchase. However , subject to your interest of how many you wish to buy.

KKH appointment bill

Can I request to pay my bill via medisave? (for the monthly appointments, etc consultations, ultrasounds) I have an outstanding of SGD 400+ Wondering if it can be deducted via medisave bfr my delivery? And how do I go about? Got called up to the counter at every appt bcs of my outstanding but have yet to enquire further on medisave. Anyone experience this before? Mind sharing first? Thanks in advance!

it’ll be accumulated and deducted from medisave during delivery. everything from kkh will be automatically deducted

confinement nanny

hi! i need some recommendations if any, im considering to find a confinement nanny. i only need her to take care baby for 28 days, wash baby's and my clothes. no need to do cooking/doing house chores. please let me know the pricing too, thank you!

Confinment nanny will include cooking and doing basic house chores. There will not be any price difference if you dont need her to do what you mention. Prices u need to check with agencies directly (e.g PEM / angel confinments). Prices varies for different person
